So I went into the scrap yard today, I had a bunch of aluminum and some sheet metal and steel, I ran the sheet metal and steel off went to the aluminum side and started weighing the aluminum, the kid there was not very knowledgeable as to what was aluminum extrusion or sheet and breakage, I explained to him that if there was anything considered breakage that I would take it back, clean it and bring it back, Jay came out and sorted the aluminum and left, the kid continue to where the aluminum, and everything went on the scale. I left the yard, and was checking my receipt later on and realize that they gave me 31 lb of breakage aluminum. I called the guy and told him of the issue and he told me I could come get my aluminum and never come back. I've been going there for over 25 years. Incompetent, ungrateful, and just plain rude to long time customer. WOWI will let the yard I start going to that they have Jay@Adkins Recycling to thank! 😉

No room to turn around in the back , had to do this two times pulling my trailer by hand to get out to get re weighed so the third time had to back off the ramp because it was blocked by others my 8 ft trailer jack knifed and tore two holes in the car, ya my accident but where in the heck do you turn around, then to top it off my two grand kids said the two men working outside where laughing when they came out of the office and talking about it, wish i heard because id be sitting in jail tonight also rude and unprofessional if anything. Im calling the owner tomorrow. $500 deductible or small claims and alot more! Will update status.

5 stars because I don't know any different and they seem fair and courteous. E-waste, scrap metal, aluminum cans, and so much more.

The service was all around good, was in an out. Pricing is way low compared to some other places!!!! I had stainless and got 35cents a pound at Adkins where as every place in indy is 55cents. The difference in my case was $47.80 so I don't know about anybody else but its worth the drive to indy if u like making more money for ur stuff.

I would not go here. The parking lot is full of nails. Not worth replacing tires. If you look closely at the photos you will see thousands of nails.

I had NEVER been treated more rudely in my life. The girl that was working in the office was obviously in a bad mood she was slamming things all around when I walked up. I handed her the paper that told what I had recycled and my license she grabbed them and slammed them on her desk. She proceeded to print out a 40 page report (at least that's what she told the young man that walked in the office; she never so much as said a word to me) while I stood and waited. She turned to get my money from the drawer and apparently the money wasn't in there she yelled F$@&!! and stormed out of the office. I stood there and waited for at least 5 minutes before she finally comes back with the boss conplaining to him. After she got her money all set up how she wanted it, again as I stood there and waited some more, she finally slammed my license and money down I was able to leave at last. As I said at the start of my post I have never been treated so rudely in my life. Unless you just HAVE to, I would NOT go to this recycling place. There is a much nicer one called O'Neals Salvage, it's a few miles down 252 right across the street from Mount Nebo Church and Cemetery. Take my advice and go there.

Check other places before you go there. They take advantage of Unknowing customers. I just sold an old AC window unit and all they gave me was a dollar the amount of copper in that thing alone is worth at least $10 for recycling. If you're looking for a fair deal look elsewhere

Very poor service. I wouldn't go here if I ever had to because they don't give you but 3 cents each a pound for steel. I don't even wanna give you one star but that's all I had to give you so that I could give you a review
