LKQ Pick Your Part - Ontario JunkYard Reviews

I have been to many Pick Your Part yards and none of them even come close to holding a candle to this yard. The staff and the manager are egger to help you in anyway possible. The yard is very neat and yes clean too. It’s very well organized. I have also seeing staff members clean the path ways, for safety reasons and to make easier for customers to get around. It’s truly an adventure you might say , going to this yard and get down and dirty to get your parts for your car. I love going to it. And their prices are not bad either. The entry and the check out point needs to be enlarged though .

I like it. $ 3 bucks to get in. Don't bring a jack. They wont let you being it in. I had to find one in a junk car as the tire I wanted was touching the ground. Bring your own tools and research what you need to remove the parts you want. You can save money if you plan your trip. Search online to make sure they have the car you need parts for. They give you the location as well.

Great car inventory selection, every week they have new cars in the inventory for parts, bring your tools and download the LKQ app to find the vehicles you looking for, they have many yards , you find from engines , transmissions, electrical parts, body parts hoods, doors, fenders, bumpers, interior parts seats, door panels, dashboard, seatbelts, also you find tires and rims, these yard in particular have a huge area dedicated to classic vehicles pre 1970’S

Great Experience ! Found all my part for my junky car I usually use Zip ties but occasionally I need actual parts that duct tape can't fix . Great staff as well

I was at this yard yesterday and purchased some lightbulbs and forgot they were even in my bag. I came back for some more parts today and was getting ready to leave and Zane the “manager” took them out of my bag and instantly accused me of stealing “didn’t ask if I had the receipt or anything”. After I explained and EVEN SHOWED HIM MY PREVIOUS RECEIPT he only gave me one back and said I can have the others once I pay for them. This place is on a steep downslide under this management.

Tried to sell my car, asked for my name and that was it, have been on the phone with no one there to talk to me for going on 8 minutes now. Very unprofessional and if I ever need something, it sure won’t be from this place! The least y’all could do is tell someone you’ll be back instead of just leaving someone on the phone without mentioning anything to them!!
- MMichael Patrick Robert Kiebler
This place is a scam. They charge you to come in here saying the car is here. Online shows a full car when you go in the car is stripped down to barely nothing. False advertising easy lawsuit win. The online photos show a full in tack car.

I didnt want a warrenty, but they had already charged my card an extra $70 for warrenty, then the manager proceeded to color with blue paint pen all over my part like a child, making a total mess.. I let them know I would be degreasing and painting before install, and they told me to keep the blue paint.. very unprofessional. Price for Item $225. Total out the door $369 with all the additional fees.. also they make you rent the engine hoist, which I thought was shady.

WoW! I think I saw every kind of car I have ever seen. What an amazing selection of pieces, colors, parts, etc! If it isn't here, good luck finding it anywhere else!

Updated 1/7/23 You find out a lot about a business in how they deal with a complaint/issue. Alan returned my call and with the assistance of his district manager came up with an acceptable solution, return the fee that I was charged for a warranty. I would have given 5 Stars but my initial contact was horrible. I hope that someone speaks to Veronica about the importance of customer service. I was charged a warranty on 2 seats and 4 hub caps despite declining the warranty option multiple times. Whe I pointed out that I had been charged $53.40 in Guarantees the cashier told me that he could remove the guarantee but the price would remain the same. This made no sense to me so I asked to speak to a manager. After waiting over 20 minutes for a manager I decided to leave an email message on the lkq website asking to be contacted. After waiting a week for a reply I called the Ontario location on January 3rd and asked for the store manager. A friendly associate took my name & number and said Veronica the store manager would call me back. I did not receive a call back. On January 4th I called back again and was transferred to Veronica's voicemail. I left my name & number again & asked for a return call. After several hours I called again just before 5pm. I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes with no one ever returning to assist me. Why are you reluctant to pick up the phone and speak to your customer Veronica? I am reasonable and a frequent shopper. I love the website and its inventory photos, interchange, pricing. The prices are mostly reasonable. I have to assume that employees receive some form of kick back for each warranty that they add on to the sale because other customers in line voiced the same concerns. The Better Business Bureau may want to hear about this practice. Terrible customer service or is this the way that LKQ chooses to operate their business? My 1 star is for the website.

Not only expensive but limited to certain vehicles. All vehicles posted on Website inventory aren't subject to posted prices on Website. Suck to come out from 30 + miles away for a part listed for a certain price then find out when u get there it's more the double what's posted on website. Selling parts junk yard parts for refurbished value then you still have to pull parts yourself. Not good.

Cars are well organized (four groups: foreign cars, foreign SUV/truck/vans, and then domestic of those two) and clearly marked, so along with the app you know exactly where to go. Entrance fee is $3 and bring cash unless you want to wait in an additional line to pay w/card. Here are my tips: 1) Equipment To get the most out of your visit, I recommend bringing a wide brimmed hat and water to help with hydration/sunburn/heat (sunscreen on your nose and neck), a 5 gallon bucket or cart to hold the parts you're pulling, and a backpack with your tools. Cargo pants, mechanic gloves, and safety glasses are a plus. Bring clothes that you're willing to get dirty. Once you pay entrance fee, getting back to your car might be a hassle, maybe more so if you already have some parts, not totally sure though. So plan out your visit. 2) Parts list Before you head over, make sure and write down or photo any part you may need for all your vehicles. I did a quick check inside and out, body, belly panels, engine bay and interior. This can help, as you may only find half of what you're after. 3) Check inventory The cars they have available changes often, but if your car is common enough they should have a few of the same. Cell service was spotty for me, so screenshot the location of each car you're after. 4) Tools 3/8 ratchet with sockets from 10 to 18 mm (I was after foreign vehicles, domestic will use inch sockets), a bit driver with plenty of bits, a battery powered impact wrench (faster than hand), and some trim clip remover tools. 5) Note vehicle info Remember from which vehicle you pulled parts. Taking a photo of the sticker helped me. How checkout works: When they ring you up for sale, they mostly look at the more expensive and larger items and don't care about each panel clip or screw, so load up on those smaller and cheaper items. Line waiting times can be longer, maybe 30 minutes.

First time pulling out a motor from this place and I asked the person at checkout what's the process here. Four eyes gets all smart and says "you get the engine hoist." I grab it and have to go back to rent it. Four eyes fool says "I told you that it needs to be rented." Then why did I walk away not renting it because he didn't say it. Make sure you keep your receipt for the refund for renting the hoist. I found out the hard way and I did my best to research on their website before showing up. It's ironic spending more time situating at check out then pulling out a motor.
- MMichael Ferguson
Awesome as usual. Prices great, great staff. It's always a hit or miss if you get there a week after a car comes in. Make sure to dow load their app to get notified. For a junk yard, clean and well organized.

They add 90 warranty charge with out telling customers make sure you tell the cashier you don't want it they basically stole 25.00 from me they try and get you in and out so you don't see the charge until it to late ............I asked for a refund the next day because I didn't see the charge and they refused
- TTORRES
Not worth it very expensive I was in line for 30 plus minutes and from everyone that was in line everyone left their parts from how expensive it was. Muy caro de todos que estaban en línea prefirieron dejar sus partes por lo caro.
- CCory G
This place is a rip off!! I went there and removed a fuel vapor canister and online it says that part is $25. When I went to check out she said it was $87 and went down to $67 without the warranty. They tried charging me for the purge valve and hoses that are all attached to the canister and one piece and she said they charge for each piece separately when it’s all once piece!. I can buy this part brand new for $160 and not have to worry if it works or not and not be charged for pieces that are all the same part. What a joke this place is especially for having to pull your own part. Just buy your part brand new ppl.

They went downhill they used to auction cars and have sets of tires ready for sale not to mention would be nice for the website to be working and updated weekly so we can see the condition of the cars before we drive down. I am disabled and need stuff but it's hard to get down there. Maybe one day it'll be easier I get there's a lot of inventory but get each person to a section it's done. Just an idea to make things better. You guys raised all the prices on parts too. Some of the stuff I get new for the price of a old beat up Part.only good thing is the battery deals
- JJoe
The entrance is $5 all the cars are junk there's trash all over the place everything's more expensive I'm never coming back to this junkyard again
- VVanessa S
LKQ always comes through with the car parts! They have locations pretty much everywhere.
- RRicardo Martinez
This place is the worst place out of all the pick a part locations. First of all prices keep going up even if the parts are broken, old as heck, barley hanging on they overprice everything better to buy online then waste your money at this place. They don’t know how to treat customer at all. I went to get some tires for my vehicle. I took my tire irons cuz I work on my own vehicles mechanical, electrical, and tires I try to do it all. So I removed the tires I needed myself and upon checkout the guy at the register told me I couldn’t dismount tires myself and assumed I knew that. there are no signs anywhere stating I couldn’t do that myself nor did they tell me at entry. They just want to charge dismount fee for themselves. On top of that this guy tells me this is the last time I can even go there because I’m a shop. He said I wasn’t allowed at that pick a part. I just went to get some tires for my vehicle and I get banned from going to that location. Forget this place they treat their customers wrong when it comes to prices and customer service. I’m not even a shop the guy assumed I was just because I know how to remove tires myself when there are other guys their doing that they don’t say anything. Save yourself a headache and don’t deal with this location. The others are bad also but this one takes the number 1 worst location.

Worst place, they were trying to charge us $450 for a $150 dollar part and the manager is worst saying “we are trying to get people to buy the whole thing” that makes no sense for a “pick your part” yard when they trying to forcefully make you buy a part you don’t want. You work so hard to take the parts off all for them to overprice everything and i bet they sell the parts at a higher price online without them doing any work and having the customers do all the work. They need new management, they steal money, force you to buy parts you don’t want and find excuses to raise their prices. If i could i would give them 0 stars. What’s funnier is that they say the same thing to everyones bad review “copy and paste much” they obviously do not care about any feedback and do not care about customers.
- EEdwin Rodriguez
Came here to get parts for an old truck, bad mistake. They wanted 800 for a hood, bumper, radiator and radiator housing. It’s cheaper to buy another truck and swap the parts. Parts are cheaper new with warranty. Never coming here again and don’t recommend anyone else to do businesses with these people.
- RRay B
Sometimes the lines are long to pay, you get to stand in the the hot weather. The cashiers need more knowledge of parts.. Who does the hiring?? 11/25 here again for some parts. And once again, I have nothing good to say about this place. cashier couldn't figure whay the part was, So she makes up a part and charges me what ever she wants . Smh
- GG Lyman
Went to the checkout with my parts only to be told that ‘Classic’ car parts cost more than the prices posted on the website. Wish I’d known that before spending hours pulling parts that turned out in some cases to be triple the posted prices. The clerk seemed to make up prices randomly. Checked the website again and absolutely no mention of this. Went to other Pick-your-Part yards and was charged the posted prices for classic parts.
- ddjdeluxe101
worse place you can go to get parts. they were charging me $380 for a bumper. the guy said ok fog lights extra, fog light bulbs extra, racket extra, they were charging for everything that was on the bumper. these guys are crazy! i also wanted to buy a radio bezel and this clown said $130 and it didn't have a radio. im really upset because i took all morning to take off parts. so my advice to you is to go ask how much the part is before you take it off. its so funny that you take your time to take off parts and they charge you more than a brand new part. never going there again.
- ccarlos toscano
Big place to look for parts, huge selection of different vehicles to choose from.
- eeg_fanatic
The only thing I hate about on line inventory, they post the cars after they been stripped apart, they should post cars before they get out to the yard, so customers that depend online inventory have a chance to find parts. The other thing I notice they are trying to sell use parts like new c'mon it's a junk yard not the dealer. This is for all junk yards not just this one.
- KKyle Bayne
There needs to be clarification on that they consider a "classic" vehicle and the pricing for those parts needs to be posted publicly. Despite having a whole section for classic cars, the 1988 vehicle I was looking for was never listed as being a classic car online nor in their yard inventory as such. But hey, surprise! Suddenly when it's time to check out, it is. Which is funny because in that section there were plenty of cars older than the 1988, yet all their pricing wasn't at "classic car" prices. So a $44.99 seat ended up being over $110, and because of it being a classic car part, it was offered with no military discount or warranty. Oh and you don't get to see whatever piece of paper they price their classic parts off of. This place is dishonest and loves to bait and switch, not only will I not be returning to this location, but any location owned and operated by LKQ. It makes no financial sense to shop for anything here when other self service yards exist with clear, honest pricing.

Kinda typical gross auto dismantled. Not for the faint of heart. But hey, it is a junk yard. Helped my son score what he was after. Take masks, gloves & hand wipes. Work boots & no dressy attire.
