I replied to an ad on Facebook from this place. Asked about the condition of a truck bed. I was told to wait till Monday and he would check. To remind him Monday. Came Monday I checked in and that's when I found out that I was lied too. The dude did not do what he said he was going to do. Instead wanted me to call them before he would check on it for me. When I told him just wanted to know the condition of the bed. I was informed that I was a window shopper and was blocked right afterward. I didn't even get a chance to say anything and explain myself. The guy is a shady business man with a piss poor attitude.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. My fiance was in dire need of a driveshaft & this place had several. The downside is we live over an hour and a half away, and work full time so it’s nearly impossible to get there before 5 without cutting it close. They do no holds, no reservations, won’t stay a second past 5pm. How the heck do you expect people to want to buy from you when you leave before it hits 5:01. horrible. They aren’t open on the weekend so there’s not even an option. This place is the worst. We called to say he was on his way and may get there right as they’re closing and they couldn’t even care less. Have some respect for your customers, or provide weekend availability maybe?

If I was allowed to, I'd give this business at least 3 separate 10 💫 reviews! 1) for efficiency 2) for most polite service, and 3) for integrity and honesty and fairness in their up to the minute of the point of sale! I love this place and it's employees!! To make a short story with long-lasting impressions short, I stopped in there recently for the second time doing business with them. My experience was even better than my feelings walking out of the shop the first time which due to a truly down-to-earth vibe they have going in there that caused me to tell any and everyone I had speaking with about them looking into buying used auto parts some place throughout metro Atlanta. Anyone who dared to debate me over the sure bet #1 spot to buy or even ask about a part they think they might need if somebody attempted challenging me with a place they always 'thought" was the best, they were defeated every time so much that I would always shut them down after I was done selling this place to them to the point of tipping their curiosity to the highest peak to where they told me later that they went there and left eager to let me know that of course, I was right! "Told ya so, didn't I?" That's because the operation runs like a hummingbird, they're incredibly attuned of their inventory unlike most places I called about a part only to drive all the way there to get disappointed because they don't keep on top of what they've got and don't got anymore from not keeping sufficient inventory! McDonough Used Auto-Parts is well worth traveling double-digit miles to and from because you probably most likely be leaving a happy customer with part(s) in hand! Lastly, because I've already gone beyond the last sentence of keeping my experience short, I gotta end with this. Now, they're excellent for bargaining a fair price to begin with so hands down I was confident that no matter what I was going to pay out, the price was going to be right and they don't have it in them to rip their customers off. After the one guy pulled the guts of the driver side headlights to replace every function that the lights produce from the day light to the turn signal and both regular and hi-beam I needed all their functions and wires for splicing, and both connectors . Not only did the dude who took me back to the yard with him, give me both the bulbs after he'd pulled them, after he dropped me off in t he front on his way home for the day, (it was past closing hour) I can't tell you the exact conversation I had with the guy taking care of me up front at checkout, but fast forward he frigging gives it all to me!! Yep, for nothing!!! One helluva man because I was pretty broke and I had to toss a coin for do I hit the grocery store to grab what I wanted that evening for supper or get the part I really needed for driving after sunset to prevent me being pulled over? 🤔 I sorta mumbled under my breath outloud, and he made sense of what I'd just told myself over my dilemma. He just tells me, "How bout this. Take it, and we're even." WTH!?? Of course, my mind wasn't wanting to hear him right, so I said to him, "How do you mean? What do you mean by telling me to take it?" Without studdering, he matter of factly repeats what he said, "Just take it with you, it's yours I'm giving it to you." I nearly pissed myself because we live in a selfish, greedy, cutthroat society where old fashioned, old school values and gestures have generally been becoming more extinct and well, I'm a traditional old school, true American who refuses to give up my values, moral compass, compassion, just being at least, living my life among society a good person. This guy Trumped my hand that day, and it was contagious because I'm a genuinely generous person, and more often than not, my generosity can be to a fault. Well, I carried on about the rest of my evening, thanked God like I always do for having a good day and for being six feet above ground verses six feet under, and when the opportunity knocked, I paid the kindness shown to me forward. They can believe I'm a lifer! 5 🌟 🤩

Talked to Derrick about a 351w core, he had it checked out, went by and ended up dealing with Dave (Derrick wasn't in). The part was what I expected, and everyone was very friendly. Also the man who loaded the motor was just as friendly! I will shop there again

I inquired about Post on marketplace on a sunday. Guy derek watson replied back saying closed on weekend check back on monday. Call first. He stated several times. Call first to check availability. CALL FIRST. So i jokingly replied back saying “ so i need to call first”. He smarted off at me, told me to not call and i was wasting his time. So i guess i wont call and gladly go spend my money somewhere else. 😡😡.

Disappointed. I've done business with them many times (Mcdonough) and aways happy with the parts and service. They sold me a fender and skirt for my toyota, even matched the color so I didn't have to paint it. Bought many parts there for my cars over the years.. So when I wrecked my car again and damaged the same fender AGAIN, I called them of coarse! Spoke with some guy who kept calling me Brother. Said he only sells truck parts and told me to call covington the store, which I did. They were pleasant to deal with. I asked if I could have the part shipped to the mcdonough store. They said sure just call mcdonough and work it out with them. The guy at the mcdonough store had no interest in doing that, and again stated " I just do truck's here....Brother. You need to call the Covington location and deal with them. Guess I'll drive to Covington...Brother

I've been to them a few times in the past. They are a little pricey in comparison to other junk yards however they do not allow you to pull the parts yet they have them somewhat inventoried and priced and they pull the parts themselves and sell you a used junkyard part at the counter. Which in my experiences is well worth the extra money versus the hassle and possible chances of getting a bad part or worse damaging it yourself making it useless and unreturnable. That's never happened to me of course. I'm speaking for others. Lol. It's always better of you can afford to let someone that does these things professionally everyday to handle the tasks they do well all the time. You don't save much money doing it yourself and the stress and aggravation will definitely bring your costs to much more than the savings would have ever been to begin with. And God forbid you're like most people who set off to the junkyard to repair their vehicle when in the end they typically stand still e a broken vehicle and now too deep into a project without the funds they started with in the same or worse position and they totally give up ok the vehicle and even then mcdonough auto parts can help. Because they buy vehicles in your yard and pick them up for free. Handing you a check for your junk they they will sell reasonably priced back to people one part at a time. I wonder how many times can a vehicle be sold and which parts are most frequently sold multiple times over??? I bet it's safe to assume that the cars parts can be sold to nearly as much as the vehicle originally sold for when it came off the assembly line. If not what it's sales price were, then at least what it's cost to manufacture were. Mcdonough used auto has got something figured out here and they even have such a demand for uniqueness in car parts they separated and have a truck parts division as well. And I've personally found parts that no one has for trucks especially older ones that this place has in abundance to the point they ask you: Hey what color would you like?? What color ? I replied.... He tells me for a part I have been told wouldn't be found in Atlanta by at least 12 other places, that he has over 10 of them md again asks me what color am I looking for... I afterwards felt dumb. Because honestly I didn't care what color I just wanted to fix my friends truck, and his asking me what color threw me off so bad I couldn't remember the color of the truck on command. It took a few seconds after I got off the line w the man. So don't be baffled if you call for a body part and they ask you what color because most likely if it's a vehicle made in the last 30 years, they're gonna have more than one already disassembled and in inventory or parked somewhere just waiting for the time they get to it and give it's parts another chance on the road Instead of going to the crusher. And even after they sell all the sellable parts they still get the money invested in the beginning of the whole process right back by crushing the rest for more than they paid to begin with. It's a win win for everyone bringing jobs and profit and a help people in lots of ways short and long term while environmentally helping through recycling and throwing things away that already went through the manufacturing process only needing seals or minor pieces replaced to be just as good as it was the first time. No need in buying a new part go see mcdonough used auto. Be sure to like my review or leave feedback/thumbs up or down to assist in the study of information sharing and most importantly accurate information. Not the more commonly used, disinformation. If you're unfamiliar w that word. You should stop reading reviews right now because research points to extremely large amounts of reviews not only being inaccurate but also changed by the creators or it's affiliates, The same places we are reviewing to begin with. I'm certain mcdonough used auto parts isn't in on that sort of activity so this theory shall prove it's worth in just a short period and your help will be part of changing the world. I think.
