  “Hello, I am a certified ASE master tech (my profession) in Bloomington, Indiana. In my shop, I'm currently working on my sister's 2012 Land Rover Range Rover HSE due to needing a replacement engine for nearly a year now. She lives in Georgia and she had the vehicle shipped to me. I sourced a used motor, with a 1 year warranty, for her from Benzeen Auto Parts's EBay webpage. She purchased the unit months ago, and it has sat for months on a pallet. I've just recently been able to work on it. I noticed immediately when unboxing the motor that the engine had been in a fire due to all the melted plastic and the fire extinguishant residue. This was never disclosed by the seller. I inspected the rest of the unit using a camera, and the inside of the motor seemed healthy. I went ahead and installed the unit. The widely used Alldata labor guide called for nearly 30 hours to remove and install. I completed the install and tried to fill the cooling system. I found that the entire right side of the motor had a severely blown head gasket. I found coolant in the cylinders after a pressure test. At this point, the engine had not once even an attempt to start or turn over. I then called the Benzeen internet sales dept. the following Monday (2 days later). At first, they were helpful and willing to make up for the inconvenience by paying for a portion of the repair. I did not want to have to remove this unit and send it back which they acknowledged. They directed the issue to their warranty company. I spoke to a gentleman at the warranty company and told/gave him the photos and info he needed. He said he notified Benzeen for more info. After two business days, they did not respond to him. He told me to try calling "Leo" directly at Benzeen. I attempted to call them about 5 times in total. I received a voicemail and tried to respond but to no avail. I left another voicemail and have heard no response in 2 days. I'm extremely upset and helpless. I finally get a response back from them 3-4 days after writing to the Better Business Bureau of California. I was then called by gentleman named Adam I believe, who let me know I'd be receiving written a check for the amount of $3500 in no more than 2 weeks which matched the estimate for the head gasket repair I provided previously. After 2 weeks passed and no check, I received a notification that Benzeen had written back to the BBB instead and had COMPLETELY changed the story and lied on my behalf to the BBB stating that I was not willing to return the engine I bought from them and that I used their unit to rebuild mine and all of the above. What a COMPLETE LIE. I had to respond to the BBB and let them know that this was completely false. I'm still waiting on a response. I want this business SO BADLY TO BE EXPOSED FOR THE SCAM ARTISTS THAT THEY ARE. Not backing up any of their statements from their employees and telling complete lies to benefit them instead of pleasing customers. DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY. SAVE YOURESELF!”
