I took the dead advance auto parts battery to the closest Advance Auto Store, which was this one in Murphy NC, to see what could be done to honor the warranty. The representative at the store asked if I'd purchased the battery at his store and I told him the store in VT where I'd purchased it. He asked if I had my receipt and I explained that we had literally just moved and all my belongings and documents were on a moving van. He said he couldn't do ANYTHING without a receipt, offering this explanation: "our stores are not linked!"I'M SORRY- WHAT? Advance Auto Parts had revenue of $10 BILLION DOLLARS in 2020. If you take only 1% of revenue for IT (Information Technology) that's $100 MILLION PER YEAR in IT investment. It's simply incredulous - as in I don't believe that this multi-billion dollar enterprise has an IT system that doesn't allow one store to track purchase of an item purchased anywhere in their huge network of stores. I wasn't even offered any $$ for the core so I left the dead battery on the counter. The representative asked me: "What do you want me to do with this?"
