Dude answering the phone is dumber than a bag of rocks, had to say the part 4 times, which side the of the vehicle the part was for probably another 4 times. Rather just pay full price than navigate that stupidity again. I need the right part not whatever you think you heard.

Good place to search for random parts, but you have to know what you're looking for and bring the tools to get it yourself. Never had to request any parts- both times I've been there, staff has been limited/busy, but happy to answer questions if you can catch them when they're free.

Gave me a better price for my vehicle than anybody else around here.

I had called on multiple occasions looking for a part to which they took my info. Never got a call back so I decided to call them again for an update and they had questioned me like I never called before despite taking info. After a while i decided to go in person and ask about some parts. The person working the front desk was on the phone (talking about their personal life) and I was ignored until after 5 minutes they get off the phone and ask what part Im looking for. They take the info and that was it before they got back on the phone and after standing around for a little bit someone comes out with one of the parts I was looking for. As for the pricing... it was a tad high and I could have bought oem for cheaper. This was my experience and if anyone would like to clarify I would gladly hear it out.

I called for an engine for my truck and was told they had one and could have it for me next day. Called back next day and was told it was almost a week out unless I wanted to go pick it up in Hartford. Was told they would see what they could do and would call me back and never did. I called back again and talked to a lady and she told me she would see what was going on and would call me back and has now been two weeks and still haven't heard anything

What a shame.we just moved here and was looking forward to serving Boyd’s as we definitely had some good business to give them. However the Lack of communication and was told they have vehicles holding a part I needed but it was out back somewhere and they weren’t going to go look for it, turned my head elsewhere. Best of luck aside from my experience I have heard good things.

Been going here for 30 years. Good place to get a used battery or have cars junked. Ive brought 6 of my old cars here over the years. No complaints. Many years ago I remember the owners mother passed away. I went there to boyds that day for a radiator I desperately needed for my monte. I did not call 1st. They were closed but I happened to catch the fella there cleaning stuff up in the house next door. He took the time to help me find a radiator and used the hose on the hose to check for leaks. It took a good 30 to 45 minutes and again his mom just passed. It was on his mind enough to talk about it. Super nice guy who helped me out as a young man. Needed my car for work. It's why Ill always go there.

Needed to junk an old car before I moved. They came early in the morning the day after I called and made the process super easy. Between the phone call and them loading up the car it only took like 15-20 minutes total. Got a decent price for it too.

Very reasonable pricing on a used engine that I got from them. And they loaded it on my truck for me! The engine ran perfectly and was very clean inside when I pulled the valve covers to replace the gaskets. I would definitely call them first if/when I need another salvaged part such as an engine or transmission.

They're people just like us, they gotta make a few dollars, but they've always been helpful, respectful, and fair with me. I made my first visit about 30 years ago, their attitude has not changed, you're treated as a valued customer and friend.

I had a car to get rid of AND I needed tires for my new car. Boyd's had an excellent pair of tires to fit my new car (very unusual size). After making arrangements to pick up my old car for $150 I asked if maybe the tires could be put on the wrecker and they agreed!!! So I got a check for $100 and I saved a trip to Norwich because my new tires were on the wrecker per my request!!! AWESOME customer service! Thanks so much Boyd's!!!

Rude staff and high prices, feels as though they would rather not sell anything than help a customer. Went on several occasions and was treated poorly each time. Although it is a junkyard, one shouldn't have to worry about talking to the "right guy" to receive good customer service.

Good selection of parts. Lousy customer service. The times I've gone I've been treated more like an annoyance than a customer. I don't expect great customer service at a salvage yard, but at least be halfway decent to the people coming through the door. The reality is that the people coming to buy parts will send others there and often are 'backyard mechanics' that do a bit of work for friends and family. These people are what will keep you going when times are tough.

They have what they have. Mostly older vehicles and parts. Sometimes you can get a better deal other places. They tried to charge "brand new" prices for used seat belts for my '91 suburban. They've got a lot of stuff though. Check them out for yourself.

They always say that they have the part I'm looking for...but...they need to pull it from a car....I call the next day..same story...they've never actually sold me anything...except tires...good deal there....good prices and they mount it for you... usually have at least one or two of the tire sizes that I'm looking for

I had an appointment for them to come pick up my car. I waited at home all day and before closing time I called to ask if anyone was coming. There was a ton of backround noise and the guys weren't very friendly with both phone calls to make the appointment or to check If they were coming. He offered to pick it up first thing next morning and I told him to forget it.

There is some great stuff you can find for your current vehicle but I have at times not had the best luck when getting a vehicle picked up to junk. I can say they know what they are talking about and they definitely a great at what they do! Usually best to call them mid morning I have found.

DISCLAIMER: This is a JUNKYARD, people. Expecting the same "customer service" [read: coddling] you get elsewhere is LUDICROUS. Of all the junkyards in our area, I'd happily say Boyd's is the best. The service you receive largely depends on the person you talk to - but I have been buying from them for a few years now and have consistently received really quick, cheap service. Parts are cheap, used tires are in GREAT shape, and - while they aren't always "friendly" [read: spoiling their customers like a Wal-Mart Associate] - they are always willing to help or drop prices. Never had an issue here.

I've been there twice in the last two months trying to get tires, first time there price was so high I had to go back home and save up some money for 2months. So I go back today and see they are closed, go back to my car and while parked start going thru my phone to see where else I can get tires, the guy that works there/lives next door comes outside I ask if there doing business at all today and he says "nope, so beat it!" I thought I misheard him so I asked what he said and he said again "beat it". What kind of service is that!? A possible customer is there and you are gonna talk to them like that!!?? That's absolutely ridiculous!! From now on I'll stick to going to Clemens instead! I stopped by there right after and hear from them that they have had multiple customers coming in lately saying the guys at boyds have been extremely rude to them! I will never go there again! You say beat it to a potential customer!? You obviously don't want any kind of business if your gonna treat your customers like that or you get off on treating them like the junk you sell! I get it's a junkyard but seriously you can at least treat your customers like customers!! Will never go there again!!!

+2 stars for the lady on the phone, very kind and personable. -3 for the actual pick up process. Scheduled pick up for 1pm, showed up at 2:10pm, got out of the truck, told me "sign this" under his breath. "Pop out gear." "Bye." I had to ask if I could shake his hand as he was walking away from me. Very unprofessional, conducted himself like a caveman. My experience with Pete has soured my image of Boyd's and I am not likely going to do business with them again. How about a little bit of a screening process for these guys that are interacting with your customers?

Crooks and they will call you over and over again trying to get your vehicle. Told me 200 for a junker asked for a lil more they said impossible. Just went to a place that would give me more got 500 for it so definitely look around.

Awesome service. I spoke to Pete about picking up my car that broke down on the side. Asked him if they could pick it up for junk, called me back 20 minutes later with a driver on the way. Met him down the road from where my car broke down gave me a check and that was it. Fast service. Thank you guys!

Customer service is terrible. They will tell you they have the parts and instruct you to come to the yard, and when you get there they don’t have it or make you wait hours to just tell you you’ll have to come back another day?! Are you kidding me? This lady or man said she decided to close early? Like what the heck? Unprofessional, don’t waste your time

We had it set for them to pick up our car they told us early in the morning, no one showed up or bothered to call us. We have to have it gone by tomorrow (and of course they’re closed) as we’re moving. Very unhappy they didn’t have the common decency to call at least and tell us they weren’t coming instead of basically giving us the run around all day saying they were coming and then never showed up. This isn’t how you run a business.

Great spot for used car parts. They also have a state certified scale. They buy junk cars you can drive your junk car there or you can call Boyd's and they will come pick it up. The people there are very helpful to the customers.
