I had a disappointing experience with Frederick Scrap, Inc. I spent a significant amount of time and effort breaking down an old heat pump unit to separate the valuable materials—copper, aluminum, and steel—only to have them ring it up as sheet iron! When I arrived, I asked where I should take my heat pump unit. The staff gave me the wrong directions, I was directed to go over the scale, wait for the go ahead and drop off the material at a dump area where a machine was picking up the scrap and placing it in a pile.<br><br>When I was rang up and paid, I noticed that the only commodity listed was sheet iron and I was paid $19 for it. I noticed the pricing for copper, etc... was much higher so I questioned it. I was told that I made a mistake and I should have taken it to a different area for processing. I was told that I could try to go back if they haven't picked up my materials already, but they picked up all my material and dumped it in their pile before I even pulled back to the scale! I had pounds of copper, aluminum, and steel that would have amounted to much more then I was paid...<br><br>Instead of being compensated fairly for the materials I meticulously separated, I was short-changed, which was incredibly frustrating. The customer service was poor from start to finish, and it felt like they didn’t care about providing accurate information or fair pricing. I won’t be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a trustworthy scrap yard.

I have been dealing with Frederick Scrap Imc for the last year..Ive always been honest & helpful..So today i took some metal, wire and aluminum..After unloading the metal I went over to unload the aluminum..I spoke cue, the older man it does the precious metals.. I told him I separated, and please check some of it to make sure it's all aluminum.. He doesn't talk much more or less mumbles.. Which i'm o k with that.. Sorry checks stuff and doesn't say anything.. I go to get paid. He rung all my stuff up a sheet metal.. I go back and speak to him. He checked some of it.He's like look it's metal.. Two pieces of gutter down spout and 1pot was the only metal..Im truly working on being honest and authentic in this mess os a world..Dishonesty from a company that i deal with consistently hit me hard for some reason..I had to walk away..So be mindful when your money is in someone's else's hand..You just never know when,how or where..Stay Meek, dangerous & prepared..Peace & Love

These guys were very kind. Today when I showed up for the first time they were giving away hotdogs for free as a part of customer loyalty. Despite it being my first time there they still gave me a few.<br><br>I'm happy to return there again for the next time I need something scrapped.
