Panhandle Dumpsters LLC JunkYard Reviews
3.5 stars based on 10 reviews- CCheri Harr
As a newly minted West Virginian I've had a wonderful, respectful, and friendly experience with Panhandle Dumpster service. Great communication and even when our service was missed (one time when we first signed up) they came right out and have not missed a pick up since. The price is right. Thanks for welcoming us.

Panhandle Dumpsters is an awesome company to deal with. Not only are they veteran owned, their customer service is great. Service is sometimes delayed due to weather, holidays etc., but their communication with their customers during those times is top notch. I would definitely recommend!

Signed up for service 11 days ago. They said they would drop off my dumpster the next day. A week went by. I sent an email. The rep said it would come that day. Never comes. I call. Rep says it will come tomorrow. Never comes. Called twice. Emailed twice. Now they are just ignoring me. Still no dumpster to put trash into. Just be honest! I saw the reviews and figured I would switch but they have been a disappointment. Service was literally horrible before it was ever received. Sadly switching back to the former company. They weren't perfect but they were kind enough to deliver a dumpster after signing up.

I really like them! I switched from the only other local trash service who I was not happy with at all. Panhandle Dumpsters has always been on time and has taken all my trash. I especially love their funny/witty emails- they are not just dull emails with dates for trash pickup. It's refreshing!

*Update to response from owner*I used my receptacle exactly as intended. You are the only refuse company in the area with that policy. There are other options and I excercised my right as a consumer. Enjoy your modicum of success while it lasts. You're just proving the project management triangle correct. Cheap and fast won't be quality.I switched to this service from Apple Valley Waste in December 2021. Since then they have failed to pick my trash up twice, not due to weather or holiday, but because I use my own receptacle. Today is February 21, 2022 and they only took the bagged trash from the can because their policy does not allow the pickup of loose trash. When asked about this I recieved the following reply"Not all of the tippers work on the trucks as well. So, if the driver/helper have to reach in the can to get the trash bags out it is a bit dangerous because they don't know what they are reaching into."I'm all for safety, but they advertise the function of those tippers on their website. I guess the point is if you expect a premium product, then expect to pay a premium price. I switched from AVW because panhandle was cheaper. That was a mistake. I do expect a premium service, and am willing to pay for it.

I am a relatively new customer to Panhandle dumpsters, but I have found the customer service staff so helpful. A new route was being established and I got missed for pick up. When I called, they were personable and professional...and the service is excellent!

I had originally posted the below review but see so many 1 star reviews so I want to add a few things to provide a realistic experience with this company.1. I scheduled a bulk pick up on Tuesday for Thursday. Even with being that close, they picked it up. No questions asked. (Lloyd even joked with me that I was making it easy for them, having it all packaged up as nicely as I could). I have another pick up scheduled for next week too.2. They delivered my can extremely promptly. If it wasn’t the next day, it was the day after that. I was able to start using their service for the next pickup. I had no lapse in my service between cancelling one and starting with them.3. I did have a pickup issue here or there but that was earlier on when not many people in my neighborhood was using their service. I haven’t had any issues with pickup since the very beginning.4. I get a prompt response to voicemail or email. (I haven’t had to contact them that much though).5. I have always utilized their online bill pay (not sure why someone is saying you can only mail payments). I most recently called Lloyd, just this week, and set up autopay. It took 5 seconds. I just hadn’t set it up but had no issues utilizing either of their online billing systems (they switched systems, I think in 2021)I have had a much better experience with Panhandle than their main competitor, Apple Valley Waste. I switched after AVW tried to pull some crazy stuff and back bill everyone an increase, bringing my bill at least 30$ more than usual.I recently called and spoke to a young lad named Lloyd. (I say young lad but we are probably the same age). His customer service was exceptional! So polite and helpful. (I did wait on hold for a good little bit but I imagine this is a smaller operation and I know staffing issues are a thing, including sick employees lately). I was a bit needy with three separate things and he helped me directly with all three very quickly but didn’t rush me.Most of all, I appreciate the direct communication. I don’t have Facebook. AVW apparently wants you to have a Facebook to find any updates. With Panhandle, I get prompt emails with important updates, reminders, changes, etc. Things happen, but at least they tell you as soon as possible! I also appreciate their transparency at all times, including in their billing practices. The price they tell you it costs, that’s what it cost. No additional fees that can really rack up. Another thing you don’t get with AVW.Since switching, I have had practically no issues. (I even had AVW purposefully placing my trash can directly in front of my mailbox, even when it was placed on the other side of my driveway and calling to ask them to please stop.) Our trash guy waves at my daughter as they go by. She likes to see their big, pretty truck! It’s just a different level of professionalism and kindness than from their competition.Save yourself the headache and more important a little cash and switch! I have had many people switch based on my recommendation (especially after they complained to me about AVW). I even have people who want to switch and will as soon as they expand to their area.

I've been unhappy with our service and wanted to cancel. We've been with them for about 6 months, and over that time there have been more delayed or missed pickups than I've ever had with a trash company - it's too hot, too cold, there's rain, there's snow, the truck broke down. The online payment process is weird and unreliable.I thought we had come to an agreement with Dee to end service at the end of January. I've been told repeatedly that missing pickups wasn't a big deal because I hired them to pick up trash and they would, and I shouldn't think that they were failing if they didn't come every week. But at some point in the past several days, they came and picked up my can from my yard. They said they couldn't come pick up our trash at all last week because of the weather, but they picked up the CAN.So now it's my trash pickup day, I have no can and no way of knowing whether they plan to pick up my trash, and the office isn't even open until 9am. (There's a lot of it because they didn't pick up 3 out out of the last 4 weeks.) I can't put the trash out without knowing it will be picked up, so I guess no trash again today.

Great prices and customer service. They always keep you updated on schedule changes. Unlike other trash companies they actually empty all the trash out of the containers. Drivers are courteous.

Scheduled a bulk pick up two weeks in advance and never picked up. Called again the next day and was told it would be picked up at the next trash date… was never picked up. Ended up taking it to the dump and it was for a small plastic chair. Trash bags always left at the bottom of the toter. My husband started taking pictures and we emailed them to Panhandle but never heard back. This place is a joke and we’re definitely going back to our previous trash service provider. They at least took all of the trash THAT WE PAY FOR EVERY MONTH. It doesn’t matter if you’re a small business or not, if you pay for a service then honor that contract with your customers. After reading the response to the last post, I’m glad we’re switching because no company should talk to their customers that way… I truly believe the customer since I’ve dealt with horrible service as well.
