Serious misclassification, unsafe unloading, and unprofessional treatment
I had a deeply disappointing and concerning experience at Trademark Metals Recycling.
I brought in a 25’ restaurant-grade stainless steel table with sinks that was fully stripped and cleaned no bolts, no rubber, no hoses, no mixed material. Pure stainless steel. Prior to arrival, the load was documented at over 1,500 pounds on a cat scale, and in addition to the table itself we added approximately 300 extra pounds of clean stainless steel.
Despite this, my material was classified as “irony aluminum” with a 65% shrink, resulting in a payout of $0.19 per pound and a recorded weight of only 780 pounds, which is not consistent with the material type or verified weights. Stainless steel does not lose hundreds of pounds through processing, nor does it suddenly become aluminum. I have proof of the actual weight and material.
When I went inside to question this, Patricia was dismissive and openly rude while explaining the misclassification. Rather than addressing the clear discrepancy or reviewing the proof I had, the issue was brushed off without professionalism or accountability.
Additionally, the unloading process itself was unsafe and unacceptable. The equipment operator began dragging the material off my trailer without giving me the opportunity to get my children out of the truck, creating a dangerous situation that should never happen at a professional facility.
Between the incorrect material classification, severe weight discrepancy, unprofessional customer service, and unsafe handling, this experience raises serious concerns about transparency and safety at this location.
I would strongly caution anyone bringing in stainless steel or high-value scrap to document everything thoroughly and watch the unloading and classification process very closely. If you go here stop at the first scale for smaller trailers in the front. Do not use the back scale. Oh and Patricia felt it necessary to let me know that their scales are “100% Certified” as though that would stop me from explain my situation.

I wanted to take a minute to give a shout out to the guy in the steel yard. Honestly at first I thought he was gonna be trouble. I thought he might be an Aryan.
We cleaned up a large lot and had a trailer full of steel equipment. We had no idea how to go about it but he explained everything in detail and got us way more money than we expected. He helped by picking things off the trailer individually.
It was really a sight to see considering how large the machine is and how tedious it seemed. He made it look easy. We had a good day. As far as appearances... he's a textbook example of why not to judge a book by its cover. This guy looks like a time bomb but was so polite and respectful. That's the main reason I wanted to leave this review aside from making the money.

Hands down Top of the line recycling location. If you have steel I definitely suggest scraping it here. The guy running the magnet looks a little intimidating but you can't judge a book by its cover. Probably the nicest and most respectful guy I've met in a long time. He was very informative on how to get the most money for my material. He promptly ushered us to a safe location with shade and then the extravaganza began. He used a massive electromagnetic crane and systematically removed all the steel off of our trailer without even stirring up dust. His abilities were uncanny. It's as if he's hardwired into the machine. Like a ninja with a sword or a feather in the wind. It was a truly unique experience and we're so happy to have seen that.
He saved us from hours of back-breaking labor so we offered him a tip...but he respectfully declined.
We can't wait to to go back.
If you're scraping metals I suggest you head to TMR.... and if you have steel it'll be a day you never forget.
