Be careful wait for the claws to move the metal out of the way. Then do what you do best and get it up in there. Very friendly employees. I drove on to the drive on scale with between 50 and 100 lbs of aluminum unloaded went around and the scale said the same weight as it did the first time around and the dude had to guess the weight. I knew this place was a rip off but not this much. This guy is screwing everyone who drives on the scale for potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars a year id like to call the department of weights and measurements. And I brought a trailer to them and they subtracted 400 lbs for the 2 tires when I weighed them the night before and they were 160 with the rim. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE your better off donateing to charity

I don’t go to scrape yards very often, but a recent home renovation resulted in about 100lbs of cleanish type L copper pipe. I cut it up into manageable pieces, put it in a container and assumed they give me the going price. Unbeknownst to me, two of the pieces had a brass fitting. Instead of just removing the two pieces, they gave me the brass scrap value for the full amount, which is significantly less than the copper value. I didn’t realize until I got home and checked the market values and did the backwards math. So long story short…if you don’t know what you’re doing, they’ll take advantage of you.
