They either A.) are unwilling or unable to pay accurate scrap prices or B.) unable to identify scrap metal correctly. We had brought in sheets of aluminum and they kept trying to convince us it was stainless steel. They didn’t have a magnet first, then swore stainless steel wasn’t magnetic anyways to avoid testing it.
