Edited in response to company’s “comment” on here: Truly insane that yall are STILL choosing to blatantly lie. Did you forget that we were shown and emailed all your pictures too?? Y’all are diabolical. I don’t think leaving a snarky comment on every poor review you receive is helping your case. The awful reputation you’ve earned in Charleston speaks volumes. Maybe spend some of your time changing how you run your dirty business?

Original Review: Employees were rude and combative from the start. This tow company did not follow municode. There was not proper signage, and the one sign they did have (on the ground) was completely obstructed by a large recycling bin. We wouldn’t have parked there if we knew it wasn’t public parking. We parked thinking we were all good because parking is free on Sundays and we looked for signs.

Front desk guy and tow truck driver said it was “our problem” that the sign was obstructed. I was parked for less than 30 mins so the tow guy was still driving away with my car when I called and told him the sign was obstructed by a recycling bin. He acknowledged that it was obstructed (meaning he knowingly drove off with the sign still blocked by the bin) and said it wasn’t his problem. So shady. In addition, according to municode “Sec. 19-399. - Towing from private property”, the tow company must report the tow to the police within 30 mins. We called Charleston county police department (within an hour of the tow) and they said they did not have a report from CBR about my vehicle.

When we were waiting at the tow company office, another person told us this was the second time CBR has improperly towed her car from her own apartment lot. What a joke of a business.

They’ll figure out any sneaky way to take your money. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the ones that set the bin there. If they’re going to be so quick to blame drivers for “doing the wrong thing” they should hold themselves to the same standard.

We stayed at an Airbnb with 4 spots reserved by the hosts. One of our two vehicles was towed for no reason and by no request from the Airbnb host. There was no note or message left. We had to call the police to figure out if it was stolen or towed and if towed what company. Thankfully police was able to tell us this UNETHICAL company (who ONLY takes cash, ha, where’s the IRS when you need them…) Absolutely shameful money grabbers.

***UPDATE*** there was a typical reply from the owner blaming me and calling me a democrat? This reply was later deleted when the parking contract was shown to him by my Airbnb’s property management and he was found in error. Imagine that! Lol

I had a great experience with CBR, called on a Sunday evening, the driver got right over to me and was very kind. They dropped my car off at my chosen shop with no issues. I was a little worried about having to wait a long time but the driver was super prompt. I will definitely be using them again if I ever need a tow. Also the price was beyond reasonable! I was on folly road and needed the car brought to rivers. Great experience! Thanks a bunch
