Very good experience! YOU unload your items into carts, separated by type. If you are not sure if something is steel, see if a magnet will stick to it! They weigh each cart and pay you cash.... simple as that! We have some file cabinets to take on our next load.

Dont waste your time/money go down the street 2 blocks to Aurora recycling. The Lady here tried ripping me off, I had sold the same aluminum light fixtures to 2 different scrap yards for 35cents a lb. ALL DAY no bull 35cents for aluminum cast. One load i even got 37 cents lb. And I took bolts off and cleaned them of most of the steel, a bit here and there. The lady tried giving me 15 cents a lb and didn't even inspect the dang stack, casually declaring it was breakage. Even the fork lift driver said it was clean aluminum, but she wouldn't budge. She told me there was no way I could get 35 cents, and bargained to give me 29cents, no thanks! I loaded my metal back up, in no time, ill wait for aurora recycling to open tomarrow Oh, and no crafty response can justify this attempted rip off, take your sign down that says "best prices in Chicago" this is the lowest paying yard I've been too so far.

Terrible business as they are ripping people off, when I asked how much for copper in 2 different copper categories they told me $2 a pound even though it's clean, I would never do business here as you could go to other scrap places and receive $3.60-$4.70. terrible as they are taking advantage of people who don't know that copper is one of the highest paid scrap besides brass. That is still way below market price.
