Inconsistencies in what's required to be able to dump yard waste and other items. While we like the recycle center and enjoy all the dumping options they have there's inconsistencies when entering the facility that requires you first drive through the booth. We've been allowed through without showing any thing but a drivers license to the expectation that we show a utility bill. Most people go paperless for utility bills as it's the most environmentally friendly. Why a recycle center requires that you have a utility bill is beyond me. Driver's license should suffice. Then, if you don't have one, having to sit there a log on to the City's account while people are waiting to get in is not efficient at all. Make up your side, no ID, ID only, ID and paper utility bill, logging on . . . which is it and make sure those working the booth are consistent. And here's the kicker, my husband and I have different last names and he is not on the utility bills I am and yet, once he showed the bill he was allowed in?? Driver's license should suffice.

I appreciate the resource. However, we too have experienced the gates being closed early by a an employee, and it’s highly inconvenient that the center is not open at least one weekend day. And last time I checked the information on the website vs google listing was inconsistent with true operations.

For those of you questioning why you need a utility bill. This is a service for the city of longmont. The utility bill proves residency and that you're not just passing through and conveniently dumping your trash. This ensures the yard isn't overflowing and keeping the services available to the residents.
