Pros: I greatly appreciate how this location can accommodate walk-ins for many different car services, and obviously anything related to tires. I also appreciate that they do a price match for tire prices you find elsewhere. They are fairly quick and get the job done.

Cons: They don’t care about customers and will try to upsell you. If you buy a set of tires there, there is zero incentive to go back for patching or other services. I know some tire chains will give lifetime free patching and other add-ons to keep you returning. Mr. tire does not. In fact, they sneak additional charges onto a tire patch to make it a completely overpriced service ($60). And then they try to upsell new tires, even if your existing tires still have a lot of life left in them and just passed the state inspection. Don’t try to tell me I need to buy new tires when I obviously don’t. And stop adding the TPMS kit as a $20 charge every single time you look at a tire. It is not needed and yet another upsell attempt. Just be good people and fix someone’s tire for free or super cheap if they had just bought it from you a few months prior and ran over a nail or screw. $60 is ridiculous and shows that you don’t care about people who buy tires from you. Next time I need new tire tires, I will likely shop around to see who has better ongoing service for loyal customers.

"Upselling on Steroids."

We brought our car to Mr. Tire because our usual mechanic was closed for the long holiday weekend. The tire pressure light came on unexpectedly and remained on even though we had checked the air pressure in all tires, confirmed that they were within recommended limits, reset the light, and checked the tires for leaks. We were concerned that we had missed something so brought it to the Mr. Tire store on Langston. We left the car there and returned home and, a few minutes later, I received a call informing me that the tires were ok (not leaking or damaged) -- which was good news. At the same time, however, the representative recommended additional work which would cost $1,700 (not including taxes).

My husband declined the work and picked up the car. Among the recommended work was the replacement of all 4 tires, which had recently passed inspection and whose condition we re-verified as well within recommended tread depth limits.

Mr. Tire had also recommended flushing of the power steering fluid, a tune-up, and work on the fuel system, among other miscellaneous items. This all appeared to be based on Mr. Tire's "Courtesy Inspection -- Scheduled Maintenance Review" -- which apparently was simply a digital search of recommended maintenance for an automobile of this age and mileage. At no time did Mr. Tire inquire about the car's maintenance history (we follow Toyota's recommended maintenance very carefully) or any evaluation of the car itself. It seemed, to us, to be a pure "upsell" attempt.

If I can be plain for a moment, Mr. Tire would be well-served not to spend so much time following corporate seminar recommendations for enhancing its profitability. If it wants repeat customers, it should treat them as though they are (as we often are) neighbors, and deserving of honesty and fair treatment. There must be room for some little bit of "integrity" somewhere in Mr. Tire's corporate ethos.

We've had excellent experiences with this Mr. Tire location over many years. They are very knowledgeable and very honest. They take good care of our vehicles and at the same time are proactive in trying to save us money and unnecessary repairs. We trust them -- how often do you say that about a car service place?? We highly recommend and will keep returning.
