I own a construction business and I have an account at W. Silver Recycling. I've been taking bulk ferrous materials and non ferrous materials here for years. I recently closed a brand name retail store with lots of store fixture aluminum and steel. For the aluminum I had my crew separate a substantial amount of the unpainted extruded aluminum and painted aluminum. We took both loads to the W. Silver yard. They got weighed, and they instructed my guys to unload all the material in one pile (Dump trailer so it was easy) side by side and they would buy it as #1 clean aluminum. My guys did so and left not knowing any better so weeks later I got a check in the mail for one bulk buy: dirty painted aluminum :-(<br>THE PROBLEM WITH THIS PLACE. Everything here is verbal and I hate it. When we go you drop off material, give your company info, ID or whatever and they whisk you away to wait for a check in the mail (They are cashless now since they changed ownership). They offer no receipt to prove you dropped off anything. You are expected to trust that what they say is what they will pay. They can tell you one thing and change it at their discretion like they did with us.<br>I no longer do business with W. Silver Recycling and DO NOT recommend this facility to anyone looking to sell any type of metal, go somewhere else, Seller beware!<br>They only sell to business which I feel can be more vulnerable since it's not a traditional cash sale. They feel they are too good to buy a bag of aluminum cans from a homeless man.<br>I've had great experiences with the honest folks at Rudy's Down town recycling for my aluminum. This business does not take safety serious after a driver almost backed into a woman’s car and got out to yell at her. Also the management will take it as a Joke if reported.
