Edit 2 in 2024: Things seem to have changed. I don't know if it's been training or staff changes, but I haven't had any issues the past 2 times going. Staff seem much more pleasant. It's still difficult for a homeowner to go, and some sort of markings on the piles/areas would be really nice for us peasants that don't do this for a living, and are just trying to recycle instead of throw out metal. (Original review follows) Sure, they'll take your metal so you can recycle it and not put it in the landfill. But you want paid a fair price? Forget it. They may have OK prices, but they'll steal every chance they get. If you have to go to the specialty metal building (aluminum, copper, etc.) give them a 1' cardboard box with parts in it because you've painstakingly separated everything, they'll write in a 5lb tare (without weighing the box) so you get paid for ~4lbs less than you should. Also, you had better know exactly what you have and have it all separated (just don't give them it in boxes to weigh, as above). Otherwise they will get annoyed for not knowing the exact metal you have, and also pay you a lower price. Edit, since I can't reply to a reply: yes that's the visit in question, Feb 2021.
