They Knew I Needed This Money Urgently - Still Withheld $17,251<br><br>I had just returned from Florida after 2 months caring for my mother who passed away July 27th. My finances were devastated from being away so long. I made the painful decision to sell my car to pay rent and catch up on bills.<br><br>When I saw Driveo's promise - "We understand how important it is to know your financial obligations to your lender have been met. We make pay-offs immediately and even give you a copy of the pay-off check to your lender." I felt relief. They seemed to understand people sell cars because they NEED the money. I drove 90 minutes believing I'd leave with funds to pay my rent.<br><br>What Driveo Actually Is:<br>A bait-and-switch operation that secretly delivers you to a dealership. Every email, text, and confirmation said "Driveo." Not ONE mention of Scott Robinson CDJR until I arrived.<br><br>The Deception:<br>- Promised: "immediate payment" and "leave with cash"<br>- Reality: Arrived to find no Driveo office - just a Honda dealership<br>- After they had my car, presented a dealer waiver stating they "cannot guaranty how long" before releasing funds<br>- My $17,251: Still withheld after 17+ days<br><br>The Human Cost:<br>While Driveo/Scott Robinson sits on my $17,251, I'm facing eviction. They knew from their own website promises that people counting on these funds need them immediately. They deliberately deceived me when I was most vulnerable.<br><br>The Pattern:<br>Driveo presents itself as understanding that "financial obligations" matter. They're right - they do matter. Rent matters. Not becoming homeless after losing your mother matters. That's why their deliberate deception is so cruel. They use these promises to lure desperate sellers, then deliver them to dealers who impose completely different terms.<br><br>Facts:<br>- Zero disclosure of dealership involvement until arrival<br>- Waiver contradicts ALL advertised terms<br>- Filed complaints with CA Attorney General & DMV<br>- Exploring legal options<br><br>If you're in financial distress and need your money quickly, DO NOT USE DRIVEO. They prey on people who need immediate funds, then trap you in a dealer transaction with no timeline for payment.<br><br>They got their car. I'm still waiting for my rent money.

I had a positive experience selling my car with Driveo. Randy was very communicative and helpful. Like all other car buying services, their offer was subject to change based on an inspection, and my car had some cosmetic issues that justified an adjustment. Even then, their offer was competitive against others and comparable to what I would have received for my car if I had to take care of the cosmetic issues myself and sold it to a private party. At the end of the day, the 45 minute process and not having to deal with scammers, lowballers, etc. made me happy with the experience.

I had a frustrating experience with Randy from Driveo. After driving for an hour and a half to get to the appointment, I was informed that my car had a manufacturer recall, which drastically reduced their offer by a couple of thousand dollars. This was particularly disappointing because I had provided my VIN number days before the appointment, and they should have been aware of any issues in advance. The lack of communication and preparation on their part made the whole experience a waste of time.
