Car still had issues starting so I spent additional time and money on diagnosing the issue and ultimately had to take the car to the mechanic. $250 later my mechanic tells me the "new" battery I installed was in fact over 3 years old and was completely worthless.<br><br>I took it back to this same store I bought it from and was treated extremely poorly. Staff questioned if I had really bought this battery at this store this week. They then tested the battery and agreed it was dead and I would get a refund. However, for no reason, they began to question what kind of car I had and insisted this battery wasn't acceptable for my car. My mechanic installed the exact same model NAPA battery in the car that I drove to the store. I explained this and was told that I was wrong. They also said that - if the battery was new but wasn't compatible with my car - that it wouldn't have been covered under warranty. I explained that I knew this but that isn't what happened, they sold me an old battery and that old battery does not hold a charge and wouldn't have worked in ANY car. She raised her voice to talk over me and explain how I was still wrong. All of this was completely unnecessary, I had no desire to argue and we had already established that the battery was old and should not have been sold to me in the first place.<br><br>I got my refund but I am livid at my treatment here. A quick google search shows that a car battery shouldn't be sold even just 6-9 months after manufacture so they had no business selling me a battery that was made in 2022. I went an entire week without my car, had to rely on rides from my friends and Uber, spent money on diagnostic tools to fix my car myself, and ultimately paid someone else to diagnose and replace the battery that I had already "fixed". What a waste.
