I inherited a 2001 Buick Park Avenue with very low miles that was kept on a charger but hadn’t been driven in a while. When I checked it out, the blinker wasn’t operating properly along with the brake light and parking light. This was right around Christmas time. Called Oades and they were very honest about the wait time. We have other vehicles so, no problem. While the car was with them, Alicia was who I worked with. She was fantastic with giving me updates and letting me know what was going on. The issue turned out to be a little more in depth and in order to get to the root of the problem, labor was intense. I actually work somewhere that I am able to check labor times. Not that I thought they were lying, it was just a lot of work! The great hardworking people at Oades are honest, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. As stated before, we have other vehicles, we will definitely be servicing them here. I highly recommend Oades Brothers for any of your automotive needs, they’ll shoot you straight.

Left a Chevy Cavalier 2004 here this morning to have our wipers checked because it stopped working and I cannot drive around without it since it started snowing. Got a call and was told motor and linkage needs to be replaced - came afternoon and was advised that the car is ready. Got there, got the receipt and the wiper motor and linkage assembly was replaced for $602. I asked if there’s a website they can give us where they got the part because from looking online, the price difference is like $400. I was told that they have an internal site where they get their parts, that this is the cheapest they can get “today” (other cheaper parts will take 2-3bd), it has their price markup and warranty. We understand everyone has their own price markup, it’s business - but for like $300-$400? Just not right. Can’t even provide a website for the parts to show the price to show their customers that they’re not trying to rip them off. We’ve been here twice before for different reasons and we thought we were quoted, serviced and billed fair, until today. I was asking nicely trying to understand the pricing but the girls started being defensive and told me next time to bring our own parts if we want to and started being irritable with my 5yr old.<br><br>UPDATE: 12/16/2025<br>Spoke with Jimmy Oades Thursday last week.<br>Got a refund for $150.<br><br>Final thought: I really think their mechanics do a great job fixing cars and all that. Just hope the price markup is not that much and they have a staff that cares and will explain things better to their customers, not just tell you “if you want bring your own parts next time”, because that left a bad impression to us.<br><br>RESPONSE TO OWNER'S COMMENT: 12/24<br>First, when the car was diagnosed and we were called about it, we were not given a different option other than the $871 repair cost and since we've been here twice before for different reasons and thought the service and pricing were good, we trusted that the $871 repair was our only option that day and we were about to head out to go to work and drop our child to school that we didn't have the time to research on our end. The less expensive part was told to me afterwards, when I picked up the car and started asking questions.<br><br>Second, now that you mentioned Factory Motor Parts and Parts Tech - these are the info I tried to ask your employees. To at least tell me or show me a site where these parts are resourced out. Every customer will be bothered seeing the price difference and will want some clarification. But I didn't get any, instead I was brushed off and was told to bring our own parts next time.<br><br>Thirdly, about the "were caught off guard by a bit of attitude". I asked nicely and politely because I want your employees to understand that I wasn't upset, the car's been fixed. I just want some clarification, instead they escalated the issue then came after my child that really threw me off and why I walked out before the conversation get worst.<br><br>Lastly, if "hey kid, get off the chair. I don't want your dirty, salty boots on the chairs." sounds like she's really concerned about my child's safety, sure.<br><br>Thank you for reaching out to us.
