Pete’s Towing and Recovery is a joke to say the least. They have consistently changed their company name due to an overwhelming amount of bad reviews and, you guessed it, lawsuits. Metro WSI, Pete’s Towing and Recovery and Corky’s Towing (all the same company) doesn’t care about you or your vehicle. They will damage your car and claim that the damages were pre-existing. They will refuse to show proof (video, photos, etc) of these said previous damages. When you request to fill out a damage claim, they will make a big deal out of it and huff and puff. The customer service is non-existent. They treat you like an inconvenience for coming to get your car. Mind you, my car was towed within 2 hours of me visiting a friend and parking in the lot without a visitor’s pass (something we both were unaware was needed). I don’t ever write reviews, but my god this place and the staff are horrendous. I highly recommend taking pictures of everything and recording your conversations when you go. Also, don’t mention that you will be taking them to small claims court for the damages or else they will call you “sue happy” and continue to be outrageously rude. Mind you, before the case is heard by a judge, they are legally required to show any and all evidence they claim they have of previous damages.
Best wishes to those who have to deal with this company. You don’t have to be a victim, take them to small claims court, collect evidence and demand to see the evidence they claim to have. You deserve better.

I understand why my car was towed. My problems with this place stem from the utter incompetence, along with the woman at the front desk who greeted my friend and me with, "If you're going to come in here looking like that, you can wait outside." That is way out of line and not how you speak to a customer.

First order of business: Pete's Towing and Recovery is just your average Scooby Doo villain with a mask on (on Google Maps). This place operates as Corky's Towing, Metro W.S.I., and of course, the name you are currently seeing—Pete's Towing. The business model seems to be to rack up a bunch of negative reviews, delete the listing on maps, create a new listing, rinse, and repeat. This "scam center" has been around for almost a decade, but the last time they performed this cycle seems to be less than a year ago.

In 2018, an inexperienced tow truck driver hooked up the car via its inner tie rod instead of the axle and bent it. When I picked my car up from the impound lot, my front wheels went in opposite directions, forcing my car to swerve off the road and into a ditch. Thanks to a quick-thinking state trooper who was directly behind me and turned on her lights, I avoided a collision. My car was towed to Toyota AGAIN. When Toyota inspected it, they said that my inner tie rod needed to be replaced and the wheels had to be aligned.

I sued them and left them a scathing review (under the name Corky's Towing) detailing the damages they had dealt to my car. It is filed in Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO) under Case Number 27-CO-18-10284.

So why am I talking about this now, in July 2025? Well, gang, in typical Scooby Doo villain fashion, these pesky sewer rats have struck again! They towed my car and damaged it, this time under the name Metro W.S.I. (aka Pete's Towing). This time, it appears they have figured out the difference between a tie rod and an axle, but they still managed to mess up the car's alignment.

Also, for a company that tells reviewers to "take responsibility for improperly parking," they could probably do the same. A quick records check on the State of Minnesota Website reveals they attempted to dispute one of their vehicles being towed and, in typical Corky's/Metro W.S.I./Pete's fashion, failed to show up to court. I've attached a screenshot for proof.

Legally, these clowns take L after L because they know they are in the wrong, and so they don't show up to court. They are morally bankrupt schemers that go about ruining people's day and ironically refusing to take accountability for their actions.

They are rude and simply aggressive when you try to retrieve your vehicle. Even threaten to not allow you to retrieve it. Customer service is slow while you wait in a freezing tiny lobby and they want to keep your vehicle for more money.
