If you need work done on your vehicle, this is the place to go. The team at Tire Tracks Manteno are the most honest, decent, and knowledgeable mechanics and technicians I have ever come across. The first service that I went in for was a wheel alignment and I was told that they would simply check it before they did any work. A text was sent to my phone with a status of my vehicle and all other areas that they had checked such as pad life, tire tread life, etc. When the car was ready for work they called me in and showed me exactly where my car was out of alignment. The second time that I went here for work on my car, I was explaining an issue that is somewhat specific to my vehicle and I was so relieved to hear that they knew what the issue was and how to properly do the job. Tire Tracks was the ONLY shop out of five or six other garages - dealerships included - that knew how to fix what was wrong with my car. They were also quick to dispel some incorrect information that I had received and let me know the specifics of the issue. They completed the job by the time promised and my car felt brand new on the road. The team here knows what they are doing. They are transparent about your vehicle's issues, upfront about the time and the cost, they treated my vehicle with respect, and are knowledgeable beyond compare. Honest folk like these are hard to come by.

What happened to this place? I used to send my friends and family. This last time my buddy goes in to have a tire patched and an estimate for some shaking at 40mph, but goes away when not accelerating. They gave him some BS quote for a bunch of things. $2200 worth of work. He picks his car up after asking them, several times, if they drove it after the tire was patched. “No we didn’t, the guy isn’t good w manual.” Wait? What? He picks up his car, brings it to my house so I can put it on ramps and take a look. I look at the quote for Work givin for $2200. I get under the car and most of the items on the list they put on there had nothing wrong with it. What they did NOT include on there was the CV axles in the front end, causing the shaking. I found it right away and I’m just a YouTube mechanic. My buddy actually used AI, gave the symptoms and AI even said it was the CV axle. On top of all that, they patched the wrong tire or didn’t patch it at all and charged him anyway. I don’t know what’s going on in this place, but I used to use them all the time and praise them for good mechanics. Or they’re high as hell.
