Very awful and intimidating first experience. The lady working by the weigh ramps was nice, but the guy inside the office on the left side of the lot was more than rude. We were first timers, and could not hear him over the dumpsters banging. Instead of coming up to us and explaining nicely, he had the audacity to say he told us 3 times and we don't listen. We took back our radiator and are going to Carter Lake from now on.

I didn’t like it advanced but nice and helpful people. They took the pressure out of me. My fist junk yard pick up.

Got ripped off on almost $200 for my aluminum gutter load in council bluffs. They treated me as if I wasn’t watching the weight of my loads… 03/03/25. Unbelievably irritated with the customer service in which the way they handled the situation. First load was 5240 lbs before dropping it off, the weight after was 4840, they initially handed a $17 check… told me if I brought the next load in they would make it right. I come back with the second load and the first check was written out for $197. The price they pay is $0.97/lb and they skimped me on 200 lbs. and treated me like I was in the wrong about it. I suggested maybe check the cameras and they told me no they don’t do it like that so I’m just pretty much screwed on that money… completely recommend finding another recycling company to do business with as this place is very unprofessional and will do what they can to get over on you. Learned from experience. ***My review was one that was posted in the heat of the moment and I was 100% truthful about what I had experienced this time, but I would like to clarify that this was not an experience that has ever happened before dealing with Alters, and I would like to apologize for stating that I recommend going elsewhere and having called them unprofessional. Honestly, mistakes happen, and I do not believe they work to get over on anyone. I’ve dealt with them on numerous occasions and never had any instance like the one today. They’ve been very helpful and professional with the business we’ve done with each other and I do not recommend any other company to do business with because they’re by far my favorite one to go to. I will be calling tomorrow to see how we can move forward with this and will continue to do business with them! Will update with the results of the call/and explain how and if they handled the situation. Thanks!
