Matawan Auto is hands down the best mechanic shop in the area, and Leo is an absolute professional. He is honest, fair, and only does the work that is truly needed — never more. He always explains everything clearly, gives recommendations, and never makes you feel pressured to do anything. I feel 100% confident bringing my cars to Leo. My entire family uses him and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. He’s not only a great mechanic, but a genuinely stand-up person. Recently my wife’s car broke down — it was the only car we had with a child seat. Leo made sure the job was done the same day. He personally drove two towns over to get the part himself because if he didn’t, the car wouldn’t have been ready in time for us to pick up our child from school. That level of dedication is rare.

I cannot overstate how grateful I am for Matawan Auto. I had been to 5 + different shops in the area. They had over-priced the job or or were deceitful in other ways. When I was finally referred to Leo at Matawan Auto, he gave me a great price, was able to get my car right in, and got the job done very quickly. All the while I had a feeling that they were a professional company and not somebody trying to scam me like the other places. It was such a relief to feel like my car was in a shop that I knew was taking good care of me. Due to the fact of having to have such expensive work done I was very stressed out when I found Matawan Auto, but they put me right at ease by giving me the impression that they knew what they were doing, and they delivered. My car is now running fine and I have Leo and the crew at Matawan Auto to thank.

I can’t say enough good things about Matawan Auto and Leo! I waited until the absolute last minute to drop off my 1978 Dodge Ram Power Wagon right before a major snowstorm. It had a laundry list of problems: the plow wasn’t working, the brakes were shot, the power steering pump was leaking, and on top of all that, it wouldn’t even start. Leo didn’t hesitate to take on the challenge. Against all odds, he had my truck up and running just in time for the storm. The plow works perfectly, the brakes are solid, and the power steering issue is completely resolved. It’s honestly never run so well! What impressed me the most is Leo’s honesty and the fair pricing.
