Lucky is the guardian angel of down on their luck Road-trippers who have been hit with car troubles in the desert. He spent 3 days working on our camper van that seemed to need a new fuel filter, and also happened to have bad fuel. Lucky and Austin were very nice and dedicated to helping us. Lucky knows a good deal about cars, semi’s, and our E7 engine vehicle. And he didn’t cost a pretty penny, which is very friendly considering he doesn’t have much competition out here! He was nice enough to drive us to a motel for the night after towing our van. Very nice guy, ask him about his Native American arrow heads!

I cannot say enough about how this gentleman came to our rescue. The first Sunday in May we were traveling back to Wisconsin pulling a travel trailer when about 6 miles north of town we lost our left rear wheel. Fortunately no one was coming the other way, no one got hurt. In calling our insurance company for a tow they had no clue where we were and were of absolutely no help. We were obviously stranded on a two lane highway so I went on line and found Carrizozo Auto Salvage and on a long shot called never thinking anyone would answer on a Sunday, but to my surprise the owner, Lucky, did answer. He said he could not come out right away as he was babysitting one of the grand kids but will call us when he can. About 2 hours later he called and came out with his flatbed to put the truck on it, and hooked up the trailer and took us back to town, recommending a little rv park by a motel that he new was safe and close to a convenience mart. While it took a couple of days to get the parts to fix the truck all along he kept us apprised of what he was doing, and fixed the truck so we could get on our way. What he charged us for all the time and trouble was more than reasonable and fair and all along he was extremely courteous and kind. It was a real pleasure to meet this gentleman, and even though he goes by the name of Lucky, we feel damn lucky that we found him. Thank you so much Lucky

I was deep in the desert in my old 2001 subaru forester when I noticed a sound or was it the dirt road?? Just as the dust settled I wound up in Carrizozo when I noticed the sound was definitely my car....but, looking around I got nervous... I called carrizozo auto salvage on Sunday (shop is closed on sunday) But LUCKY picked up the phone anyway!! Lucky is a TRUE ROAD ANGEl!!! By the following morning lucky had checked out my car ordered the parts hrs away and had them delivered worked on my car until the sun went down Replacing back brakes Hub assembly bearings Checked out and topped off my fluids! And I was able to drive out by the following night! He is hands down a good person! There are people left in this world who will help you when you need it! We hung at the shop and made friends with all the wonderful locals and the wonderful police officer! I never had a boring moment the day I spent on the auto salvage! Lucky gave me an interesting tour of the grounds! Fascinating stories of wrecks etc... I am now done with my trip and made it home safe back to Arkansas! That was one of the best parts of the trip...beleive it or not! It's been a month long journey driving since i left luckys ...and Purdy blue (named by carrizozo locals)held up! Five million golden stars for this place! Lucky is a true ROAD ANGEL who even called me to make sure my car made it to AZ!! You could not break down in a better isolated place on this earth! I will be back to visit!
