I bought a 2013 Chevy Equinox on 2/9/2026, test drive was fantastic, the outside of the car was dirty but that's to be expected, the inside was gorgeous. I don't believe we looked at the engine but neither my grandfather or I would know if something was wrong anyway. Service was fantastic, everything went smoothly. My grandfather did reject the warranty offer so we left after a smooth sale. On my 30 minute drive home everything was great, check engine light turned on around 6:30 but I figured it was 'limp mode' so I did what I needed to the next morning before running errands to get that taken care of. Everything ran smoothly for a few minutes but it came back on after my first errand. I decided that I would take care of it later and continued on. My best friend and I were stopping at McDonalds at the end of my errands and as my pressed the brake the car shook quite vigorously, scared both of us, we continued on. At the first light that we stopped at we were sitting for an extended period of time at a light and the car continued to shake vigorously while I was braking and then it stalled. I couldn't do anything so I waved for the people behind me to continue on but instead the driver of the truck directly behind me got out and offered to help push me out of the way however I couldn't move into neutral and my key wouldn't come out. Magically it started up again so I got us out of the way of traffic and started making phone calls for help. We eventually decided to get to a safer location with four-ways on, we picked up my friends car on the way to a garage and at the last light before the garage I stalled again and rolled back while in drive. Again, the car started working luckily right before the green light. Garage says its a fuel pump and line issue, apparently common for the car I got. I don't fully blame the garage because we were offered a warranty but declined it. Just posting this to recommend that others do get the warranty.
