As a resident of the county, I appreciate Fayetteville's and Lincoln County's commitment to recycling. While I primarily go to the satellite drop-off facility in Taft, I do also use the Fayetteville facility if I have other business in town. That drop-off area is kept neat, swept, well organized, and easy to understand regarding what they collect and where to place the different types of recyclables. I've met Sandy, the manager on a couple of occasions and her positive attitude and commitment to the organization was impressive. One of the interesting things they do is maintain a running total of the pounds of material recycled on a whiteboard. I was stunned to see at the end off 2022 they hit over 1.5 million pounds of recycled material. That gives me extra pride about the community and the local commitment to seeing material recycled / reused as opposed to being wasted in a dump.

I've recycled my whole life, in other cities, and was a little disappointed with Fayetteville's set up when we moved here, but lately it is super clean, friendly, and seems well maintained. Everyone should recycle!
