Nice night out at the speedway! The fireworks also didn't disappoint. They were a nice finish to the end of the race. One thing I do wish is that smoking was only allowed in a designated area and not allowed in the stands. I love going to the race, but no matter where I have sat, there's always someone nearby lighting up a cigarette without any care of how it affects the people around them. I, personally, am very sensitive to it and don't care if someone wants to smoke, but wish it was not allowed in the stands so for those of us that dont smoke can watch the race without dealing with that. And children shouldn't have to breathe that in either. Other than that, it's always a pleasure going to the race.

This is one of the greatest short tracks in the eastern US. It has a long history of racing dating back to the '50's, and is responsible for helping to start the careers of the Burtons, Elliott Sadler, Denny Hamlin and many others. Years ago when the modifieds were popular, drivers like Ray Hendrick, Paul Radford, Sonny Hutchins and others ran there Weekly. Weekly racing highlights now start with Late Model stock, limiteds, hornets and pure stocks and occasionally you can catch the Southern Ground Pounders. These are cars from the past from the '30's through the '60's, modifieds and spirtsmans and they put on a great show. If you are in the southern VA. area on a Saturday night, stop by and catch the action. They race every 2 weeks during the summer.

Loved spending time and making memories here with my 90 year old dad and my daughter. The races were action packed. Plenty of food and drink available.
