This site is only for city of Altoona residents. It’s free. A great resource right in town, next to the railroad. Not super convenient for the 8-5 working crowd, but being right in town is convenient. Open mid-April to second week of November (dependent upon weather) on Wednesdays from 12:30 PM - 3 PM and the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 AM - 2 PM You can drop off brush, tree, trunks, yard, waste, and pick up mulch, compost, when it is ready, and a small amount of firewood. There is an attendant on duty to guide you. No dumping/dropping off outside of posted hours

FYI they are open on 3rd Saturdays.
