The personnel at Buxton Transfer does a great job -- a fantastic job -- providing the facility and managing the disposal of waste and recycling. However, the access and entrance to the facility is atrocious. A large SUV could disappear into the potholes. When it has rained you go under water. The one lane paved entrance is deteriorating, but you frequently have to move onto the unpaved shoulder to avoid other vehicles, which is likewise totally unacceptable. If the County is planning a new entrance, it needs to happen. If it isn't going to happen soon the existing entrance needs to be repaired.

The staff at the station are very pleasant and helpful. I went there several thousand pounds and because of their guidance we were able to recycle almost all of it. The first five hundred pounds is free and we came to just under 300. Highly recommended!

Great place to recycle cardboard, aluminum, glass, etc., from our trip. Since the motel no longer offers recycling, this is a great option and it’s close to town. Easy in and out.
