Serious transparency issues after police-ordered tow — legal review now underway After a police-ordered tow of my empty tractor-trailer on 02/04/2026, I had an extremely concerning experience with this business. I was initially quoted $18,000 verbally with no written invoice. After pushing back, the amount was reduced to $7,500 — and the only paperwork provided was a single-line invoice labeled “heavy wrecker by pound” using 37,500 lbs at $0.20/lb, with no explanation of how that weight was determined. The invoice did not include tow distance, recovery description, equipment used, time on scene, storage calculations, or police reference numbers. I was told payment had to be made in cash, and it took more than 24 hours to receive even this minimal invoice. I paid the amount solely to retrieve my equipment and stop additional losses, but I have formally disputed the charges. Legal counsel is now involved and formal requests for full documentation and reimbursement review have been sent. For a police-ordered heavy-duty tow, I expected transparency, itemization, and written rate schedules. This experience lacked all three. Anyone dealing with a recovery here should demand complete documentation before paying.
