I'm working on a recently purchased 1978 BMW R100/7 that had previous owner/maintenance performed by people who knew little about BMW motorcycles. I reached out to Barrington Motor Works when I drained the final drive and found significant metal chunks on the drain plug. Excellent communication from the get go. Ande called me once he tore the unit down to explain how the crown gear set had destroyed itself due to the previous incorrect maintenance (see pics). The gear set is no longer manufactured (key point on finding the right people) but Ande was able to locate a very good, used set and the unit is essentially brand new. Also provided valuable information on installation and future maintenance. Excellent workmanship and highly recommended for any airhead repairs!

Thank you Ande for sorting out my R60/5. Finally back on the road after 10 years of storage and 36 years of ownership, the bike has never run this well! After a failed mechanical and cosmetic refresh by another mechanic, Ande systematically sorted out numerous mechanical and electrical issues that had plagued the bike. He kept me advised of progress and made sure we were on budget. Barrington Motor Works is an awesome shop and I am happy to have finally found a real BMW professional.
