Unless you like nails in your tires and being cheated, Stay Away. Also, don't believe a word of their response to this feedback. I've never left negative feedback for any business, but BMR earned this one. I brought them 35 pounds of heavy gauge solid copper wire. They quickly removed the pile from the scale and dumped it, then only credited me for mixed-alloy stranded wire (worth 40% less). I'm an experienced recycler, so I wrote to ownership and gave them a chance to make it right. They did nothing. Any business that would rather cheat someone out of $25 instead of working to earn repeat customers is a business to avoid.REPLY TO BMR: No return letter was ever received at either my physical address or email. My letter also contained my home phone number, which was never called. The wire I brought in was standard household copper wiring (romex and cloth covered), not "very heavily insulated" wire, and the nail in my tire occurred during a previous visit to your scrap yard area. As far as checking the payout slip, what good would it have done? The wire had already been comingled with other scrap. I wrote you a polite letter explaining what happened, then waited 2 weeks for a response before leaving this review.

This is one of my favorite places in Benton Harbor! I am able to buy things that people bring in and give them a new life! I'm working on some big snowblowers right now...

Poor ethics. Rude staff...they do not even follow their own scheduled and posted hours...will close early ....if its Friday,..nice weather,...any other day ending in "Y", just because they feel like it...I spoke with the rude staff who informed that they "routinely close at 4:20"... If that's the case, then the posted close time should be 4:20 then, not 4:30. Not interested in customer service here at all. More importantly if I cant trust the business hours how can I trust the scale???stay clear

This place is a family owned business that appears to treat its employees and customers with the highest degree of respect. The owner often goes out of his way to help out customers and is heavily involved in giving back to the local community. I have watched numerous interactions that indicate this, one recently where I overheard him offering to help out an employee who was in tough situation. I didn't get the details, as I couldnt really hear too well and I didnt want it to seem like I was eavesdropping, but it seemed like this man genuinely cared about his employee's well being which was refreshing. Moreover, I can say i have been paid fairly every single time and every interaction i have had at the window has been pleasant. The lady who works that is always extremely nice to me and I look forward to my trips here as a result. I hope they stay in our area for many years as they are an asset to our community.

Smooth fast service, guys are cool. And they finally fixed that horrible road by the scale. Still open with covid-19. No contact system in place. Very Happy!

I'm going to give this place a one-star based upon the following. Recently I was in an accident with our family's minivan a tragedy to say the least she will be missed. But I digress. The insurance company totaled it out and paid me for it and they also let me keep it. So I decided to scrap it due to the axle and control arm being severely bent so it wasn't orth fixing so i look it up and do some research And the closest place and highest paying per Ton at the moment in the area was this place now the rest of the staff was very kind keep in mind I hadn't really been there before so I wasn't sure how it operated but I knew enough to drive onto the scale and push the button and speak to the person, this person didn't ask what I had or what I was doing they just said "okay I got your weight" kind of hastily.. by the time I got to the other side of the scale I realized they must be thinking I'm not leaving the vehicle. So I drive up to the little drive-thru window and say "I'm leaving the vehicle" to them and she gets a very sour look on her face and says "oh scoff you gotta get back on the scale!!" So I drive back through the scale she says go park it at gate 1 so then I assumed I had to bring the title to her she didn't tell me anything she just said park at a gate one I had to go in the building at Gate 1 she didn't tell me that so I walked all the way to her window she gets all rude and snotty with me, and informs me i have to got to the building at gate 1 .... thankfully that was the last time I had to speak with her during my business transaction at this recycling facility the rest of the staff was awesome just don't speak to her LOL peace out y'all

The window lady and the owner are not polite people...they are not concerned with customers the least bit. They will rip you off if your not on their tops. Beware if your trying to get paid correctly!!

A great place to me the owner real cool the employees great Dennis treat his employees like family and yet he still have to be a boss if you got a problem with this place you the problem

If you're trying to purchase scrap the prices are in insane, both the receptionist and the owner are extremely rude
