these people are thieves. as many others have posted, they keep your vehicle hostage. they stole tools, clothes, camping equipment out of my truck. and 3 guys tried to muscle me off the property. when i finally was able to retrieve the vehicle (with NO help from Jefferson police, i might add, an officer was on the phone with sars in the background saying "i told you not to scrub the info on that truck yet." shady?) my truck was EMPTIED. if i was the state police i would look into the 'vandalism' and other things (read: INSURANCE FRAUD) that happened at sars.learn from the rest of these comments. NEVER. EVER. DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE.

unfortunately my car was in an accident and towed there by the police I went there the next day to retrieve some personal items out of my car and they wouldn't let me have anything until I or my insurance company payed them and there very nasty about it. After about a week when my Insurance company payed them I was able to retrieve my belongings. Sars has the worst reputation in town and would highly recommend staying far away from this place if you can help it and it would be in your best interest to take your belongings out of your vehicle at the scene of an accident

Very rude and nasty my car was in an accident in Jefferson and it was towed there by police the next day I went there to retrieve my belongings out of my car and they wouldn't let me until I paid the tow bill. This place is horrible and very creepy especially this old man that works there I can't believe the town would allow a business like this to tow for them. My advice to anyone who has a car towed there by Jefferson police get it out of there ASAP and report them to the chief of police they are very nasty people

I actually want to put ZERO STARS. This place was horrible. My son's car was impounded and when I called the next day I was told it would be $35 for storage per day. I said I would be in the next day. When my friend and I pulled down the long narrow gravel driveway surrounded by abandoned junk cars, we were met by several unwelcoming men, demanding to know why we were there and what we wanted. I explained I had come for my car and one of them growled that I needed a release, when I had been told the previous day I only needed to bring cash. I got out of the car and my friend was sure one of the men was going to shoot me. You could just about hear the dueling Deliverance banjos in the background. I told them I was there for my car, didn't know anything about a release and that I had spoken with some woman the day before. That seemed to work because they begrudgingly let me past their human blockade and directed my friend down a narrow path of rotting, rusted out piles of automobiles to attempt to turn around. Once inside I was told that I had to pay for 3 days of storage even though they hadnt had the car for 3 full day and despite the fact she told me I would pay for 2 days of storage previously. Obviously you cant argue because they will keep your car and probably hide your body in a crushed car out back. These people were off-putting, dishonest and the place was disgusting. If that is the vibe they are aiming for then they've achieved their goal. If they want to be a welcoming business they need a little customer service training. Thankfully I got the car and we escaped unscathed. I would never willingly go there for any reason. If a car is ever towed there again Ill send my mechanic to pick it up on his flatbed, no matter the cost.

ZERO stars. So extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked for tire, they said they would call me back. Hours later I call them, they say a few minutes. Hour and a half later I call them. "Oh we don't have it and I sent everyone home so I can't get you a donut." Then hung up on me.

I called this place Friday (5/27/17). A woman answered in a polite, but uncommon manner for a business. I wasn't sure if I called a business or a home. I explained what I was looking for. She said they had what I needed, it's $100, but they had to have someone get the part and was told I'd get a call back. After 30min I called again as I hadn't heard anything and knew they closed a half hour later. Again an unprofessional phone answering, followed by my inquiring about the status of the parts I need. Again I was told I would get a call. No call came. Here I am the day after, patiently waiting for this supposed call. Half the day goes by, I call yet again. The man who answered the phone at least identified I had called SAR'S and was over all very pleasant. The man in the background, however was vulgar and rude. He yelled to the guy I was speaking to, that he didn't care how close I live and didn't care i called yesterday for the part or what I was told yesterday, that he was leaving and closing up shop and to just hang up on me. All said with much more colorful language. When I asked if I could speak with him, the man yelled more of what he already said only more colorfully and insisted the man I was on the phone with hang up. I asked this man if HE could sell me the part since the other was leaving. His reply was no and only the yelling man could. While I was talking to him, the man in the background continued to scream and become more agitated. After my exchange, the line went dead. They were suppose to be open until 3pm, it was 1pm.*** New Review ***I submit this addendum in order to give a full view of the scope of this experience. It is now Thursday June 1, 2017.After my previous experience, against my better judgment and out of convenience, I decided to give these people a THIRD chance. I was running errands today and my travels brought me into the vicinity of SAR's, so I decided to swing in. I have to admit, the encounter lived up to my expectations 100% and will say I'd be surprised if the individuals at SAR's didn't see this review coming. It really and truly is unfortunate, one bad apple CAN spoil the whole bunch. I say that because while I didn't feel answering a business phone with a simple "Hello" is very professional, the woman I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant and reassuring. I don't blame her for not getting a call back, nor do I blame her for the other people there saying they have no information about my initial inquiry. Somehow, in my gut I feel she did her job to its fullest. The man I spoke with on the phone the following day, he was very polite, cordial and respectful. Well done sir. The man that came out and greeted me at the actually yard today was very nice, polite and respectful as well. I greatly appreciate that. He asked me to wait where I was as he went to go and look into the part I needed. NOW the man in the background of my second phone call, who is also the individual who approached me after the polite man at the yard departed, this man is a different story. He is a short man with a beach ball of a belly, and a big white bushy Santa-esk mustache (no beard). This person approaches and asks if I am the person who called on Saturday and who wrote ... well, this review. I admitted I was. Now here is where everything can be fixed. Rather than saying, "hey I'm sorry about that," or "It was a holiday weekend and we close early on holiday weekends and the hours online don't reflect that," or even "hey i had a rough day. My Bad. What can we do to make this right and maybe you can see it in your heart to remove or change your review?" Instead of any one of those things or anything resembling an attempt to repair the relationship between business and patron, I got, "you won't be getting that part here. Not after that review. Now get out!" to which I respond, "You know, I can take down the review." Subtly hinting, minds can be changed. "I don't care," retorts the round little man, "now get out of here."Sadly, negative star ratings aren't an option.
