Not sure where all of these negative reviews are coming from. When I got there, everyone was very kind, they honored the price they told me over the phone, the process was simple, and it seemed like a very honest service all around. I even had a nice conversation with two of the folks there about my life goals. They took my old, worn down car for a very nice price, and the service took no time at all. I called six of the scrapyards nearby, and this one gave me the best price.

Just went to a Teplitz junk/salvage yard to send in my Mazda 626. Family run business. Lady on the phone tells me we’ll give you $400 for it. I told her okay, I’ll be there today. When I get there they tell me $350. I tell them that’s not right to tell someone $400 on the phone and tell them differently at the yard. Owners tell me to take it or leave it. I said okay I’ll do it for $350. Owner of the business then tells me I don’t want it anymore just because. Wasted my time. Dishonest management and ownership

Zero stars. Was lied to repeatedly by the office secretary about a car I had junked with them. Needed the insurance device from the car and was told it was crushed. Car is probably being sold as is. Don't trust.

Shorted a dumpster load by almost 10,000#. I had weighed dumpster before they picked it up. Then stalled with payment. Had to make multiple trips. Rude employees. More rude owner.

One of the best scrap yard experiences. The staff was awesome. Yard guy addressed everyone by their name and were super cool. Space is tight but was able to swing trailer no problem. Had a guy in crane slinging large items as they were being dumped. Smooth operation and would go there just to hang out too.

I have dealt with Teplitz for 40 years, and never had an issue. The operation is well organized considering the quantity of varying materials being brought in, and the sorting required to separate the various grades of metals. I believe many of the posters here are weekend warriors cleaning out their garages, and expecting big dollars. For the guy with the "stainless steel" grill; had he broke down the grill to the stainless parts and scrapped them separately, he would have been paid differently. Expecting Teplitz to do that labor negates any value that small percentage of stainless steel would have brought. For the other unhappy posters, know that market pricing dictates what you are going to be paid for your scrap, and know that all of the handling, shipping, and processing that their workforce does comes at major overhead for them. My business requires documentation on the disposition of the items we bring in (primarily under-ground tanks), and our transportation costs are somewhat covered. Teplitz provides us with a valued service, and has done so reliably for many years. Is it hectic at times there? Yes, but patience goes a long way, and knowing their protocols for getting in and out is important.

Offered a price on my car initially than within the 20 minute commute to the shop they continued to text a lower than initially agreed upon price. They played hardball sales upon arrival. Not worth it.

My Prius was high mileage and not worth fixing anymore. She gave all she could. Teplitz then paid me a few hundred for the car. It was a win-win for me!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. Made multiple appointments to have a vehicle towed. They never arrived nor took the initiative to contact me to reschedule.

RUDE!! RUDE!! RUDE!! RUDE!! RUDE!! RUDE!! ..hmm...where do I start... First and foremost this place is a RIP-OFF.!!!! I will NEVER go back again.. secondly.. the guy in the booth, whoever he is, is a serious @$$h*le.. My first trip ever there I junked a catalytic converter for at least $20.. A while back, my second time there, I brought a catalytic converter to junk and the 'booth-guy' told me it was no good, they're not going to give me money for it.. I brought it somewhere else and they took it no problem and said it was fine.. ..most recently, my third time going to teplitz, I went in with 3 catalytic converters and 'booth-guy' told me he has no time for me, that he has trucks to deal with. He spoke to me like I was the most unimportant thing on this earth. Mind you it takes about one min to check a catalytic converter, IF THAT.! Oh, I'm sorry.. I thought I was a customer just like everybody else.! I decided to wait in line anyway... As im waiting I watched 2 different trucks on 2 different occasions just cut the whole line of people waiting, myself included and drive right up to the scale. I heard the guy in the booth say to one of the drivers, 'hey you cut the line', but he did nothing about it and helped him and weighed his scraps anyway. It was obvious he knew the driver of the truck because he called him by name.. Pretty nice way to do business.. apparently if you're known there, you don't have to wait.. you can just cut the line and drive right up, no questions asked. ..Finally after he allowed every single truck to go ahead of me, even people that arrived after me, he looked at the catalytic converters I brought in and to my surprise didnt give me any problems with them and accepted them.. I received my money and rushed out because I had been on lunch from work and he kept me standing there over an hour. When I got back to work I realized that he RIPPED ME OFF.! The truck I personally removed the catalytic converters from had 4 of them to begin with.. Two pre-cats and two regular cats. Pre-cats fetch a price of $12 and regular cats fetch a price of $20 or $22. I brought in two regular and one pre, which should've gotten me $52-$56.. the booth guy listed them ALL as $12 pre-cats.. which gave me only $36 instead of 50-something... ..It's not going to make or break me monetarily.. It's the point of the situation, because I know he's been doing his job waaaaaaayyyy to long to make that 'mistake'.. the $12 pre-cats are literally half the size of the regular ones.. So after waiting for over an hour, being belittled like I wasnt important enough to even be there, like my business wasn't good enough, to then be ripped off, was the last straw for me.! From now on I'm going somewhere else.!

Brought some scrap metals from tearing down an above ground pool. These guys said they wouldn't pay for it. I said that's fine if I can get it unloaded. They said they wouldn't unload it for me, but I can use their area for dumping aluminum. The older man at the weigh station is a low life who hates what he does. Can't blame him, he's a bum who runs a poor business.

The old geezer running the scale would not weight my truck after 3:50pm. However they do no close until 4:30pm. He told me to come back in the a.m. The old guy running the scale was just old, grumpy, & lazy. Waste of time. I will never go back it was rude, unorganized, surrey.

From the woman who first answered the phone to Tony, the manager with whom I dealt, to Ron the efficient driver of the truck that picked up the wrecked car everyone at Teplitz was polite and professional. I called Teplitz on Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday morning, as promised, they picked up the car and paid the fair price that had been agreed.

I called for quote on my old car and a really rude woman answered the phone. She rushed me off the phone and sounded like she was annoyed that I called. They also offered to pay a very low price on my car. Such a rip off.

Extreamely rude over the phone, person who answered kept cutting me off and wouldn't let me get a word in and seemed like I did them some diservice by calling. Guy who was "helping" me asked for pictures of the vehicle we are trying to scrap cause he couldn't figure out what it was by the model of the vehicle, sent him pictures and NEVER got back to me and closed before I could get them to give me an answer.

Teplitz is terrible. Felt like I was getting ripped off for years until I found a real scrapper just across the bridge at Brookfield just confirmed it. Every catalytic converter you bring the the grump out front is considered a "pre-cat" and pulls 30 bucks out of his rear end. The lady at the window might be a sweetheart, but I'm there to make money. Go to Brookfield where they're honest
