My car had a tire blowout, so I called a nearby towing company in the Washington, DC area for immediate help. The lady who answered the phone was polite and gave me a quote after I explained that my car was not all-wheel drive. However, when the driver arrived after about an hour wait, he charged me an extra $100 for dollies because the car was not all-wheel drive. I was frustrated because I had already mentioned this information on the phone, and the original quote did not include the extra charge. At that point, I didn’t have time to find another towing company, so I had no choice but to continue with the service. The driver, Shawn from Ace Towing, was professional, but I was disappointed by the last-minute price change. If I had more time, I would not have accepted the updated price. Just be careful and confirm all possible extra charges upfront before using this company.
