Been going to rusty rooster for years and had a good experience until a week ago. Admittedly I got there 5 minutes before they closed. The gates were open and just like every other scrap yard that means they are still serving customers. However as I finish unloading my truck at 2 minutes until 5:00 and I'm walking up to the door to have my material weighed the man inside closes it and says we're closed. The scale operator saw me get there before closing time and unloading my truck but that's wasn't important to him. There were two people in line ahead of me. Upon going inside to complain I was told that's too bad. So I hurriedly put the things back in my truck headed up grade Lane to amen's at 5:05 and lo and behold their Gates were open and that did mean they were still taking customers. That being said Rusty rooster will no longer get any of my business or any recommendation and they will receive nothing but poor recommendations regarding people that I deal with. As a previous employee of a competing scrap yard I must say this type of behavior is unacceptably ridiculous. Rusty rooster has always had slightly lower prices (yes they price match if you complain) however the experience has made that nonconcern, but now I have already explained this change to my fellow scrappers so as to save them the trouble of being devalued as customers. The service is not the same and the experience makes the price difference a concern. I'm just one customer but never again.
