Tl;dr Aggressive staff, predatory pricing, and the car is still broken.<br><br>I have never encountered an auto mechanic this aggressive. When I calmly asked questions to support my brother regarding the bill, an employee of Jim's began swearing at me, using the F-word multiple times and insulting us. It was completely unprofessional and hostile.<br>​Beyond the abuse, the service was a failure.<br>​Predatory Pricing: We were quoted roughly $400 over the phone. When we arrived, the bill was double that amount (over $800). We were never given a price for the diagnostic or oil change, nor did we authorize a price increase.<br>​Incomplete Repairs: Despite paying this inflated price, the Check Engine light is still on and the car is idling at a dangerously low RPM. The issue was not fixed.<br>​Notice to the Owner:<br>You are in violation of the Illinois Automotive Repair Act (815 ILCS 306/).<br>​Written Estimate: You failed to provide a written estimate for the increase.<br>​10% Limit: You cannot charge more than 10% above the quote without specific permission.<br>​Consent: You failed to document any authorization for this price hike.<br>​We are filing a report with the Better Business Bureau and initiating a chargeback for services not rendered and unauthorized charges. I pray others avoid this place.

The REAL Sim

Absolutely fantastic customer service and auto service! I was in a pinch and had to get my mom's rear brakes done before she went on a trip. I called around to see if anyone could do same day breaks since we found out about it at the end of the day when we did an oil change some other place.<br><br>I called and Dean answered. I told him the issue and he said no problem. Just bring it in as soon as you can and they can do it quickly. I was shocked he actually said yes! I drove the car over with my mom and they did the brakes for us while we waited! Jim, the gentleman helping us at the front desk , was also very pleasant and even helped me get new front windshield wipers for my civic when I was there.<br><br>If you have any car issues at all, go here. They are fantastic! Dean and Jim went above and beyond to get the brakes done for my mom. I will definitely be taking cars here in the future and will recommend it to anyone that asks where a good mechanic is! Keep it up guys!
