I had an extremely disappointing experience with O’Neill’s Towing. I was overcharged, with the invoice stating an additional $125 for labor on top of the $125 non-consensual towing fee mandated in Connecticut. There was no clear breakdown of the labor costs, and they insisted on cash payment only. Despite this, they still charged me tax, which feels suspicious considering cash payments are often used to avoid reporting income.<br><br>This practice is not only unethical but also likely illegal. Their lack of transparency and refusal to accept other forms of payment raise serious red flags. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and I am considering filing a formal complaint with the appropriate authorities to address this matter.

EDIT: The owner reached out and personally apologized for his employees behavior and refunded me for the difference I was overcharged for. I was also assured that employees behavior had been dealt with internally. I really appreciate that the owner Tom took the time to acknowledge my concerns and rectify them.<br><br>I had them tow my car and they would not release it to me unless I paid them $375 in cash (In the state of CT it is actually illegal to charge over $125 for a non-consensual tow). The employee was also extremely rude and disrespectful. Do not use this company.<br><br>To add on, when I came back at 9, after I was able to take out cash from my bank, the owner wasn’t even at the garage and when I called he had said he left saying he went to pick up breakfast, then yelled at me. In a well functioning business, you don’t close up shop to take a trip to the deli, any moron with even half a functioning brain cell knows that. HORRIBLE business. If there was an option to give zero stars, I would.
