I was a long-time client at Roo Automotive and trusted their work for years. After moving to Leucadia, I tried a few local mechanics but never felt fully confident with any of them. When my Tacoma threw a check engine and traction control light, I took it to three different shops. All of them said the same thing: catalytic converter replacement, with quotes ranging from $2,500 to $3,300. Since Roo Automotive closed, they gave me solid referrals, and Poway Import Auto Experts was one of them. I decided to give them a shot — and I’m glad I did. They diagnosed the issue properly and fixed the problem without replacing the catalytic converter, saving me a lot of money. Chris, the manager, was very helpful, extremely detail-oriented, and straightforward throughout the process. Even though it’s about a 45-minute drive for me, I’ll definitely be coming back. A shop you can trust is worth the drive.

Honest group of guys who keep you in the loop with what’s going on and what the cost is gonna be upfront. Never any surprise on cost. Unfortunately owning a car is expensive and they do their best to keep labor costs to a minimum and they use quality parts. I always recommend these guys to anyone looking for a trustworthy shop. Can you get your repairs done somewhere else for cheaper? Yes, but not for the same quality work you’re getting here and the genuine OEM parts they use.

They get the job done but at 3x the price. Had my starter replaced in a Toyota for around $600!! They charged me $295 for remanufactured starter that retails for $100 at Napa and $240 for two hours of labor to remove and reinstall the starter held by three easily accessible bolts and a connector. Were they fast and did the job when I was desperate, yes. But afterwards I felt really bad and abused to a large degree. Most likely will avoid a return visit.
