This place used to be great. I just brought in a truckload of non-ferrous scrap, and and old guy with a beard just pointed me to some trash cans for me to sort myself while he went back to BS’ing with a tall redhead by the scale. After sorting it all in the cans and dragging it up to the scales alone i told the redhead I wouldn’t be back and he had the nuts to tell me “sorry we get busy” while i was the only one there besides one guy tossing iron in their bin. Too bad since they were closer to the mountains!!

I visit a few yards several times a week and the place here at Arvada metal recycling is the place to go to. It’s a shame they don’t buy steel but they’re not overly picky compared to other spots about things being clean. They will always advise you on how you could keep the material you have and upgrade it and when it would not be worth upgrading it. For example I brought in an aluminum car part and Kevin said you wouldn’t catch me dead cleaning that thing, the hours aren’t worth the penny’s you’d earn. Sometimes towards the end of the day they can be a little careless about things and a bit cranky. Best to go in the morning or after lunch. But oh boy cranky for these guys would be considered the best day of their lives for some of the other people at some of the other scrap yards around town. These guys treat me with respect and a really nice to work with.

Drive in, see greeter, let him know what you're recycling. Some will go in an outside bin. Some metals are bought. Go inside, weigh it. Get paid. Drive off.
