I had taken my truck to the Meineke in Derby with some brake problems. A caliper had locked up, I'd tried to replace both sets of front brakes despite never having done it before because I was in a rush and really needed my truck, and they still wouldn't work. Long story short, Meineke had it for two and a half weeks and couldn't fix the problem. Jerked me around the whole time, told me one thing then another, and eventually told me it was going to cost at least $2400 plus labor to fix. They were dead set on it being a faulty ABS pump. I even got a salvaged one that they put in then said it was leaking and nonfunctional. I gave up after that and took my truck to Double D's, because they could look at it the same day, and within 15 minutes Daniel figured out what the problem was and had my truck fixed within a couple hours. I had flip-flopped the calipers when I had tried to replace them myself. Left caliper on the right wheel and vice versa. And the leaking ABS pump? One of the lines wasn't tightened down all the way. Honestly, I didn't even know this auto repair shop was here before looking around, and I've probably driven right by it hundreds of times. But I'm going to take all my business here from now on. Daniel even took me out and showed me the correct orientations of the calipers and pads, and the correct way to do everything I'd done wrong. He also charged half the cost that Meineke would charge for the same job; I asked. You cannot beat that.
