My son and I were moving a boat from Lake Erie to NC and took the Erie Canal. We had our steering fail and we stopped here to have it looked at. I called ahead and Helen told me where to easily dock, as without steering this was and issue. Wayne (the owner) came to the boat within 30 min. and took apart the steering and found that a key pin had broken. He fixed it in about 2 hours. They also had a good stocked parts department which allowed Wayne to repair things immediately. Helen even drove my son to the local store for other needed supplies. Wonderful people and I would highly recommend this boat yard for any needs.

I am posting anonymously, I’ve been here a few times. Whether that’s purchasing parts, launching or getting gas. All of which I highly recommend this store for. But my problem lies with the attitudes given from everyone at the boatyard. The girl, calls herself Ace, is lovely. Very friendly and greets everyone with a smile even if she seems to be stressed. She takes a lot of backlash from her higher up quite often, whether that’s if she’s talking to a customer outside, in the shop or on the gas dock during the week. Genuinely I am impressed on how passive she is over her boss’s attitude towards her. She is young and has mentioned many times to myself and other customers that she has a lot to learn about the marine world. She seems genuinely interested in boating and has, since the summer of 2023, gained a good knowing on being a mariner. To my knowledge she’s also a part time college student pushing to become a corporate lawyer and has recently graduated with an associates degree in business, congrats to her, she seems to be the highlight of the boatyard, those who tell me of the monthly drama in the boatyard or brewerton in general always have something pleasant to say about the lake proclaimed “fuel fairy” but I don’t hear much good about the owner. I’ve met him, really great guy when he isn’t stressed. But when he is stressed he lashes out on his young employee, a very few number of those times were in front of customers. Other times were just obvious from the way she speaks when Ace repeats herself on “it’s that time of the year, he’s just stressed.” I wouldn’t be surprised if he looses a lot of business if she decided to leave, berating her in front of customers is never a good look on a business, especially one that’s still ‘new’. on both google and Facebook there’s always a review talking about him with his rudeness (half of which I don’t believe, town loves gossip) and occasionally something nice about miss Ace. Either way, I love going to the boatyard to use the launch and getting nothing but cheery smiles from the fuel fairy herself, my hope is that she doesn’t feel like she’s being stomped on and ultimately leaves, I do hope that she’s seen for her worth and value she puts toward customers care. And I do hope the owner gets the stress relief he needs when the season officially ends. All in all this business is small but a large part of the community, people come from thousands of miles away just to launch there or even transit for the night, it would be an enormous shame if they had to shut down.

Since they have been acquired by another owner, the experience is very positive! They have a nice boat launch, and friendly staff. There's typically no line waiting to launch, and have plenty of parking. They have a small shop inside if you are looking for parts or other boating accessories. I believe they have a repaid shop, but have not utilized those services.
