We have used all of the Jackson County Transfer Stations over the past couple of years and are so fortunate that the closest one to us is the Cullowhee SRC. Super convenient on the side of 107, with bins for electronics, metal, recycling, household trash, and cardboard, with no need to break down the latter. The staff is always friendly and helpful and especially our dear friend Dale, who will always greet you with a smile and a warm hello. Thank you to all of the SRC Staff throughout the county, but especially to this location, as you make our visits so convenient and pleasant.

This Waste Disposal site is located on Old Savanah Rd. In Cullowhee NC is near Western Carolina University. This GARBAGE Disposal Site is really good. I would give it a 5 if the Attendant would empty your car for you. But it is nice to pull up and put your Bags in the Compactor. There are several other Boxes there for you to put your Glass and Plastic items in. There is a box for your Old TV's and other Electronic devices. There is a box for Old Furniture and Mattresses. There is a box for Cardboard and paper. There is a box for Metal Household items like Washers and Dryers and Old Grills. There are also containers for Old Motor Oil. It is much cheaper to haul your own waste and Dispose of it as to Pay someone else to take it at $4:00+ per bag. Commercial loads have to be taken to the Jackson County GARBAGE Transfer Station.
