ZERO stars. Had my car for OVER SIX MONTHS and insisted on me paying them cash to release my car. Mind you, my car was NOT EVEN FIXED. Damien called me and told me “As a repair shop, our job is done.” How is your job done when my car wouldn’t even run! He acted as if it was an inconvenience to them they had my car for so long. I’m a mom with two kids - it was a HUGE inconvenience to my family! The best part about all of this? My car was towed to a local garage and within two days, my car was up and running. The mechanic told me nothing was connected correctly. That it came down to just shotty work by Auto Specialities. Mind you, Damien told me they took my car apart 4 times and they still couldn’t get it to run. It took a local mechanic TWO DAYS what they couldn’t do in several MONTHS. This garage should be ashamed of themselves. The fact that you took any money at all to release a car that wasn’t even fixed is a disgrace. I hope you sleep well at night. In response: Here is where I really have an issue to your context: You admit to assembling and reassembling my car multiple times - but it literally took a different garage to take it apart ONE time and see very clearly where the disconnect was. It was negligence on your part. I can provide paper work from the latest garage to prove that the problem to get it started was not complicated. For you to say I purchased a lemon would be unfair. This lemon of mine is running fantastically after someone cleaned up the mess you couldn’t. Six years and counting and the only real issue I’ve faced was bringing it to your garage for a broken spark plug. We were told over and over again it would be fixed “within the next week” - this went on for months. Let me repeat myself: this mechanic took my car into his garage on a Monday. Wednesday he was calling to tell me my car was up and running - that it was poor work by whoever worked on it prior. The shop invested two days - I think that’s what you’d call an economically sound repair. The cost for me wasn’t anywhere near what you’re quoting I actually owed you and he got me back on the road. I disagree you go above and beyond. Demanding cash, telling a customer they need to Venmo you $900 is wild to me.
