I am amazed at the OUTSTANDING customer service at Gardner. I had a ladder that was recalled. Part of the process was to recycle it and send pics of proof that I completed the steps. That evening I realized that I did not get pics of the recall number written on the ladder. I called first thing in the morning to see if they happened to still have access to it. I spoke to Steve and he not only located the ladder, but sent me pics so I didn't have to go back up there. Everyone I have spoken to there were friendly and helpful. They deserve 10 stars! Not sure if I'll ever need the service again, but if so, I know where to go. Thanks Steve and everyone else at Gardner! You saved the day =)

Nowhere did I ever sign, or have disclosed to me that I can not post recipets, nor is that described or mentioned anywhere on any receipt or visable sign in the yard. Originally review: I really wanted to like this scrapyard but everytime I give them another chance they screw up over and over, costing me money. I called Monday and asked for the current price for stainless steel. They asked how much weight I had, and I said 75 lbs. They quoted me $0.80 cents/lb I come in Wednesday and pull around to the back. Employee comes out and asked what I had. I said stainless steel and aluminum pointing to the giant kitchen prep table and aluminum sheets in my truck. Without checking with a magnet,(easily identifiable as stainless steel) He says to go weight on the big truck scale. I pull on to the scale and back around. After unloading the table they drove it with a forklift to the big steel pile out back. Note the big scale doesn't have a outward facing weight display so you can't see your weight at all. It also rounds to 20 lbs, so my table weighs as 80 lbs but could have been more. I manually brought in my other items including batteries, a bucket of wire and a smaller piece of stainless steel to the small scale inside. They weighed them, and then said the ticket was sent to the office. Except now I can't see what they recorded and check it for what I expected to see, or question why something was graded that way it was. They used to print out paper tickets that you could see what they recorded. That seems to have stopped. I got to the office window and they have you sign a signature pad, previously they had one that had a screen on it and used to show you some info, like total $ or something. Up to this point I still haven't seen the ticket yet. After they sign the check, and hand it over to you, I finally see that they did mark my stainless steel table as shreaddables/tin. I mention that to the office lady and she then has to correct the ticket and print a new check. Frustrated, I gave up on mentioning the price difference in what they quoted on the phone. They ignored the quoted price of 40 cents per lb for stainless steel, and only paid me 35 cents per lb, I assume since they went off the 2 lbs of stainless steel from the other part of my ticket, paying you less if you bring in smaller quantities of weight. I used to go here back in 2023 and had the same issues. Call for a price and once you sell it to them, it's always lower that what they quoted, and what you expected. Once again they find every way to screw the customer, I claimed in 2023 that I would stop going here, but decided to give them another chance. I can see they still haven't changed I won't be returning ever, especially since Austin metal and iron is literally right around the corner.

The team over here is absolutely phenomenal. Steve helped me out. Was very communicative and flexible as my busy schedule would alter. They unloaded my copper and made the whole process very easy. I cannot recommend recycling your copper here highly enough. They've also got on-site processing payout. Can be a little bit bigger talking to Steve. If you're an electrical contractor, I'd recommend coming here.
