Summary of Customer Reviews for Acre Auto Parts & Scrap

Recent feedback paints a split picture. Many customers praise individual staff and drivers-especially Brandon, Sam, Nick, Ron, Keith-for clear communication, prompt pickups, smooth transactions, and helpful parts counter service. However, a recurring and serious complaint dominates: on vehicle pickups, quotes are frequently reduced on arrival, often citing supposedly missing or aftermarket catalytic converters or non‑original rims; several reviewers felt pressured or misled. Another repeated critique involves parts sales and returns-reports of defective parts, orders not actually ready, refusal to refund or honor exchanges, and rude or dismissive responses. Timeliness is mixed: some note early arrivals and fast service, while others report delays or no-shows. Compared to nearby yards, this location seems to deliver standout service when you get the “right” staff, but buyers and sellers consistently warn to verify agreed prices and part conditions upfront and expect strict or inconsistent return practices.

It's a couple of days later and I'm still furious! To make room for a new (used) car I decided to get rid of a possibly fixable car that meant a lot to me even though wasn't worth a lot of money in it's current state. Now I'm short some money and extremely mad at myself that I got convinced of something I know wasn't true. The guy picking up the car told me the catalytic converter was missing. He kept pointing at an area under the middle of the car where there was a wide pipe like a resonator or muffler and said that's where the cat should be. I knew that wasn't right but having so much on my mind I couldn't remember why that was wrong. I was getting close to looking in the right area for the cat when my phone battery died in the bitter cold, all while he was telling me I was looking in the wrong area. The car was now on his truck and I needed less projects and more room, so I reluctantly took the lower amount from him for the car. Unfortunately it was well after the car was gone that I remembered where the catalytic converter was, and that I had seen it and it was original and still there. On that car the cat is very forward, up a bit and near the exhaust manifold. Actually the easiest way to see it is looking under the hood behind the engine! (something I see the driver doing on the doorbell camera video!) As a result of this bad deal, I ended up canceling the car purchase from the dealer that suggested Acre for picking up my old car. Oh, and the guy picking up the car said I should be very happy with what he paid because it was far more than he would normally give for a car without a catalytic converter! Wish I had checked the reviews before I called, instead of assuming they were good based on a car dealers recommendation. I see several similar stories in the last twelve months, so apparently the negative reviews are not changing anything.

Ron was my Driver. Very nice and cooperative. Honest about everything that was going on and helpful. He drove to Flint to pick up my junk car and communicated the whole time.
