The first time I came here 3 years ago I didn't know what I had, where to go, and I was literally on guard against the employees because of the reviews I read.

I had a bunch of varying different metals and was told what's acceptable, what's not, and what goes where.

On my next visit I asked the worker in back to again explain everything to me and how it works. He was totally kool and basically gave me a detailed tour of how they accept stuff. There's clean aluminum, contaminated aluminum, cast aluminum, different grades of copper, a difference between electric motors and starters, different grades of insulated wiring, a specific price for aluminum wheels and radiators compared to other aluminum, then there's brass, zinc, stainless, etc etc.

Once you're educated on this everything is different. There was even a third time I asked for one more refresher course, and they gave me another tour.

Now when I aquire metal to scrap, I have the knowledge on whether its worth my time to break it down into more valuable pieces or just deliver it as a whole piece for less (the "tin" pile). Many times its not worth the effort.

As for the employees working there, they are super kind and easy going (aka Kool). However they aren't punks. They're not scared to return the attitude they receive. Daily they deal with bad actors not having the proper credentials to do business and then get cussed out for adhering to their policy and the law. READ THE SIGNS IN THE OFFICE & YARD.

If you come here expecting to walk out with a paycheck, that ain't happening. You're only going to make lunch money or at best enough to pay a utility bill. If you want to drive deeper into Albuquerque thinking it'll be better, maybe it will but now you've burned gas, wear/tear, and the frustration of traffic. Besides, I think they're all owned by the same company/owner, but not sure.

Havnt had any issues going here. Im in and out real fast when dropping off copper. They pay good for copper as well. Good business hours. Workers are consistent with service. A little quiet but you can tell they're just in the zone working. Super friendly cashier.

I went there one day and parked in the front of the building. I didn’t realize you had to go to the side of the building and I already had popped my trunk. I went out to close my trunk so I can drive to the side where you drop off the metal. They refused to take my metal because they said they had me on camera changing my license plate even though I told them I was just closing my trunk. I called the phone number provided and told the lady why the guys refused to take my metal. She said she indeed saw me on camera changing my license plate. I told her to rewatch the cameras to see that I was just simply closing my trunk. She hung up when I told her that. I didn’t even want money I just needed to take my old exhaust (with no catalytic converter just the exhaust) to just get rid of it to make space in my garage. Won’t be ever coming here again very unprofessional. Kinda felt like they were profiling me.
