While the store feels disorganized on first appearances, there is a wealth of vintage and antique items in the store. The owner is knowledgable and quickly helped us find where the exterior mortise lock assemblies were and offered recommendations on sizing and orientation for best lock assembly fit. We were also looking for level handles instead of knobs. He quickly located exactly what we were looking for behind the counter. Not being well versed in fixing old doors, his help was appreciated as we navigated this unique shop of eclectic items.

First-time customer and super-happy with the help I received at NWAS. Contractor broke a doorknob spindle on my 1914 home, trying to open a little-used balcony access door. I took the broken spindle and knobs to NWAS and explained what I needed. The owner showed me several options and made a recommendation. He also told me if none of these were the right size he could make one for me. I picked the one he chose, brought it home, installed it, and now I have a working door. Thanks, NWAS!

The good: tons of home hardware solutions from old doors, windows, fittings and finishings...and more. The bad: You'll have to know what your looking for specifically and it takes time to dig around to find stuff. The ugly: the store is a mess and mostly disorganized. You can get hurt looking around and there is definitely limited aisle ways space. Not wheelchair accessible.
