We had a very concerning experience with Hooked Up Towing and feel others should be aware. My boyfriend’s vehicle was towed, and we were told the charge would be $390, supposedly a flat rate regardless of when the vehicle was picked up. When we politely asked for proof of their pricing structure or a posted rate sheet, staff told us they “didn’t have to provide that” and refused to explain how the fee was determined. This immediately raised concerns, especially because there was no visible pricing, rate signage, or fee schedule posted anywhere in the office. When we questioned how customers could verify pricing consistency, the employee insisted everyone is charged the same amount. However, while we were there, other customers were quoted different prices, contradicting what we were told. The employee’s attitude throughout the interaction was unprofessional and hostile, making an already stressful situation worse. Additionally, another staff member sat at the desk next to him playing a game on her phone during customer interactions, which felt extremely unprofessional given the circumstances. After noticing inconsistencies, we spoke with other customers present (with their permission) and documented receipts and posted signage — or lack thereof — to better understand the pricing practices. We have since compiled this information and submitted formal complaints to Anoka County Environmental Health Services, the Minnesota Department of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau, and are consulting legal counsel to determine whether these business practices comply with Minnesota regulations. Based on our experience and similar concerns mentioned in other reviews, we strongly encourage anyone dealing with this company to carefully document all interactions and request detailed receipts.

I have been towed twice by them, once in 2022 and again the winter of 2024. The first time I had been experiencing food poisoning for the first time so I hadn't realized there had been snow and that my building had my car removed to plow. The second was after moving to Iowa and coming up to see my parents after my dad's cancer diagnosis, it didn't look like we had gotten 2 inches of snow (the point they call for towing and plowing) so I had to delay going home to deal with getting my vehicle. We tried to explain the situation to the person running things on the front end to see if any sympathy was available, but they just mocked us and said "the owner had to deal with cancer and he's just fine, you probably be fine." A year later and my dad's on his deathbed

To whom it may concern: I was dealing with my elderly family member at Bass Lake Crossing and was parked in front of their apartment complex and was towed. When I spoke to Travis at hooked up towing he told me I was parked in front of a fire zone which I did not see a sign stating otherwise. I proceeded to let him know that my elderly family member could not walk far so therefore I parked with my hazard lights on to ensure my family member can get to the vehicle safely. however the way that apartment building is set up its does not indicate that I was parked in a fire zone.. There was not a sign on the side that I parked on. Yet four hundred and forty dollars came out of my pocket. This need to be address properly and your staff needs to be fully aware of this for future references and make sure if contracts are being made with apartment complexes that they too should be held accountable!
